Welcome to Magpie Primary School! Located in the heart of Magpie on Docwra Street, our school is a prominent establishment and point of interest in the community. As a primary school, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where our students can develop both academically and socially.

With a rich history dating back to 1857, Magpie Primary School has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of our students. Our historic red brick building, completed in 1880, stands as a testament to our commitment to education. In 1986, we transitioned to relocatable classrooms, and recently, we have undergone a refurbishment to provide new classrooms, upgraded toilets, and a renovated heritage administration building.

At Magpie Primary School, we strive to stay at the forefront of education by embracing the latest pedagogical approaches that foster independent student learning. Our modern facilities and innovative teaching methods ensure that our students have access to the best possible education.

We are thrilled to announce that starting from Term 1 2023, Magpie Primary School will be partnering with OSHClub to provide out of school hours care and vacation care for our families. This partnership allows us to extend our commitment to supporting our students and their families beyond the traditional school hours.

Our school values the importance of effective communication and encourages students to ask their teachers for further clarification if they don't understand something. We believe in the power of staying focused on tasks and not getting distracted by others. Our students are encouraged to embrace challenges and persevere through difficult work rather than giving up. Time management skills are also emphasized, as we encourage our students to start their work promptly to ensure tasks are completed on time.

Additionally, we teach our students to stay calm and composed when faced with challenges or when they don't fully comprehend what their teacher is explaining.
