Welcome to Spark Theatre, a dedicated performing arts venue located in the heart of Ballarat Central, Alfred Deakin Place. As an establishment and point of interest, our mission is to provide a platform for the incredible talent that resides in Ballarat and showcase their stories and voices.

One of the challenges faced by our city is the absence of a medium-sized venue (150-200 seats) to showcase local talent. At Spark Theatre, we aim to fill this void by creating a home for the talented individuals in our community. Our goal is to establish a permanent venue, but in the meantime, we will be activating existing spaces for short seasons.

Not only will Spark Theatre be a hub for local talent, but we also aim to attract touring productions that currently bypass Ballarat due to the lack of suitable venues. Through our efforts, we hope to bring a diverse range of shows and events to our community in the coming months.

As a not-for-profit organization, our primary focus is on nurturing a creative community and providing a home for developing and presenting performing arts in Ballarat. We rely on the support of the community to achieve our vision, as the engine of Spark Theatre is currently fueled by passion and goodwill.

In addition to our commitment to the arts, we also acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we present our stories, the Wadawurrung People. We recognize and honor their elders, both past and present.
