At Anglicare WA, we are committed to walking alongside First Nations people in their journey towards a more inclusive Australia. We have accepted the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and strive to contribute to making our country a better place for all.

With our wide range of services, we are able to reach both metropolitan and regional areas, ensuring that support is accessible to as many people as possible. From children and young people to individuals and families, we are here to provide the assistance needed for a better tomorrow.

One of the individuals we have had the privilege of supporting is Paula*, an 18-year-old who came to us through the justice system. Paula had experienced a tough and traumatic background, resulting in difficult behavior and poor decision-making. Witnessing domestic violence throughout her young life, she finally found safety when her family escaped and her father was prosecuted. However, their safety was threatened by a severe backlash from the father's family. Through our Y-Shac program for youth crisis accommodation, we were able to help Paula navigate her challenges and provide her with the support she needed.

As an organization, we are dedicated to being readily available to those who need us. With multiple locations across Western Australia, we are never too far away. We believe in the power of community and aim to create a supportive environment for all individuals.

We would like to acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet. We pay our respects to their strength, cultural resilience, and the Elders past and present. Their connection to the land is deeply valued and we are committed to supporting their proposal of the Voice, as outlined in the Uluru Statement of the Heart.
