"I have attended Dr Pat Ryan's for 2 of my children. My 3rd he recently did a 6 week check and picked up a heart murmur that had not been picked up by other paediatricians at the hospital. He was very reassuring and made me feel very comfortable. My 3 year old attended the appointment aswell and he was welcoming to her and included her in the discussions. She loved to play with the toys in the waiting room and was sad to leave. It is evident the amount of experience and knowledge Dr Ryan has and will definitely continue to bring our family to him."

"Absolutely Fantastic! We went to see Dr Ryan today for our son and I cannot fault him. His practise is not flashy and new but traditional and 'old school'. Not a book to be judged by its cover. We were greeted by Dr Ryan who shook our 7yo's hand upon entering and introduced himself. His appointment proceeded with him asking him questions about his likes, school and life. He was very professional yet caring and very very thorough. I am baffled by the low reviews as I cannot fault his practise or professionalism. Not once did we feel he didn't listen to us or our concerns. He also offered us to follow up with him whenever we want to or have any concerns. Very good paediatrician in our eyes."

"I have given much thought to writing this review over the last year and have decided to share my experience and thoughts. I took my son to see Dr Ryan 12 months ago at age 4.5 years, as my son was exhibiting multiple behavioural issues from the age of approximately 18 months onwards. I had been documenting the behaviours as I felt they needed to be recorded, so I could seek the appropriate help path and explain what issues we were going through. On our visit with Dr Ryan, we were seen for approximately 60 minutes. I was questioned about my pregnancy, birth and first few months of my sons' life, which Dr Ryan said all seemed “normal”. He then went on to say that because I “am not on any regular psychoactive medication for long-standing depression and anxiety”, that it is just me “finding it hard to cope”. He suggested trialling my son on melatonin, but failed to provide me with a prescription and said that I am able to purchase it off the internet. I thought this strange, as I do not know what the correct dosage is or if it’s even legitimate medication that I would be purchasing, and tried to follow up a few times for a prescription but was then told as it had been more than 12 months since my son attended the practice that I’d need to pay for another appointment to receive a script. For these reasons, we never actually trialled melatonin. This disappointed me, as bedtime is just one of the many challenging aspects we face in day to day life. I had supporting documents from my sons' kindy/daycare about behaviours he exhibits, even educators who have worked with or parent ADHD children said they had noticed my son seems to display the majority of traits associated with this condition. My son now sees a behavioural psychologist who suspects he has ADHD, and possibly even ODD. Our behavioural psychologist couldn’t believe this when I informed him of our situation. We are yet to receive a formal diagnosis because he is under 6 years old. These conditions, along with ASD, run in my family which I brought up in the appointment, but was disregarded. I am my sons' advocate and was hugely dismissed and was made to feel shamed in a roundabout way by him. I would not recommend this practice to anybody at all. Extremely negligent and egocentric. I would give 0 stars if possible."

"Dr Ryan saved my newborn premiere sons life in May 1991. He came to the hospital every 2 hours when my son was barely 5 days old. My husband and I were notified he was being transferred to Kirwan from Parkhaven. He’d suffered heart and kidney failure. It was touch and go. My son is now 28, healthy and is a paramedic and fireman. I’m eternally grateful to this man."
