About the Business
Welcome to D'Cafe, a charming establishment located at Cairns North, Esplanade, 181 in Australia. As a cafe, D'Cafe offers a delightful array of food and beverages to satisfy your cravings. Whether you're in the mood for a steaming cup of coffee, a refreshing smoothie, or a delicious meal, our menu has something for everyone.
But D'Cafe is more than just a place to grab a bite to eat. Established in 1997, we are proud to be a non-profit charitable organization that supports the activities and services of health services across Far North Queensland. With our registered charity status, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community.
One of the remarkable individuals who contributes to our cause is Sonographer Alf Hall. With over 23 years of ultrasound experience in Far North Queensland, Alf has the challenging task of performing ultrasounds on pregnant women who have experienced the loss of their baby. This heartbreaking situation weighs heavily on his heart, but he is grateful to be part of a supportive team that includes midwives, antenatal staff, sonographers, allied health professionals, administration staff, and doctors. Together, they provide comfort and care to women during this difficult time.
In a beautiful display of dedication, Alf Hall will be participating in this year's Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Ride for Isabel, a fundraising event for pregnancy loss organized by the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation. Alongside his 14-year-old daughter, Alf will embark on his longest bike ride yet, raising awareness about the emotional and physical struggles that accompany pregnancy loss.
The Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Ride for Isabel, scheduled for August 27, will take participants on an enjoyable 53km or 100km ride around the scenic cane fields of Gordonvale. By joining this event, individuals are not only supporting the Foundation's efforts but also honoring the resilience and courage of women who have experienced pregnancy loss.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Alf Hall for his compassion and commitment to supporting his patients. His participation in this event holds a special significance, as he witnesses the challenges faced by these women every day. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families who undergo pregnancy loss.
In addition to the upcoming ride, we also invite you to mark your calendars for the Cairns Hospital 21st Annual Cardiac Symposium on November 10. This symposium promises to be an informative and engaging event, bringing together experts in the field to discuss advancements in cardiac care.
At D'Cafe, we are more than just a place to enjoy a meal. We are a community-driven institution that supports important causes and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all. Join us for a delightful dining experience while knowing that your patronage contributes to the well-being of our community. "$16.90 for a wrap, I haven’t been back in months you lost a solid customer. Need to change the sausage rolls back to what they were."
"Friendly staff. Freshly made food. Practice COVID restrictions. Available seating outside with large umbrellas for cover."
"Given this is a high turn around the food and drink range is very good. I found the service was a little abrupt and not exactly welcoming, given most customers are visitors or patients of the hospital"
"Good coffee, the "south of the border wrap" wasnt seasoned enough and they charge for ketchup, I found that a bit strange. It was ok for a quick bite. Nice people though."
"I went to get a watermelon juice for a sick friend. None in stock, I brought my own and the lovely young woman made it for me, she went above and beyond good customer service, even though it caused a bit of a line up behind me. Thank you, my friend really appreciated the drink."
