"Awesome curry, authentic flavour and the meat so tender! Good value, good quality and I highly recommend!"
"Punjabi Nights-such a disappointment. Friends who used to visit them when they were in Freshwater said that they were great. Well my experience and others is that you get LOADS of sauce and NOT much meat. I paid for the meal for 2 was $45 when they were in Freshwater - now $60 plus I ordered a Vegetarian Korma- so close to $80. Was really underwhelmed with the amount of chicken (I have seen this on another review recently-so obviously the main ingredients are being rationed) in both the Butter Chicken and Mango Chicken. Mango chicken was very sweet-guess that is okay but less sweetness would be better. Rather than post an honest review, I thought I would give them a chance. I contacted Punjabi Nights who said order again and we will do something complimentary. But not saying they will fix the actual problem. I explained to them that people will all think same and that they won't last long if they don't deliver good quantity to customers. They offered 1 free curry-which they should be fixing both and saying complimentary for both curries. Not once have they said we will put in extra chicken from now on. Instead, they started moaning about the cost of things and not talking about rectifying the lack of meat in their curries- comparing old and new menus each curry at the new shop is now $19.50 compared to $15.95 when in Freshwater a year ago (over 22.5% increase and most appetizers 50% more. I understand things go up but DON’T scrimp on the quantity-cutting it both ways won’t work with locals and we are what your business needs to succeed) So my response is why would I give them more money for same product? I wanted to give them the chance but they don’t respond in the way that they should to customer complaints. Fix the problem on meat quantity and complimentary the initial curries and then we move forward. If not I will never set foot inside again nor recommend to any of my 3 AirBnbs where we have over 300 people staying a year."
"The butter chicken pie was fantastic. We’re glad the cafe next door was closed and Punjabi Nights was our only available option. Crispy delicious pastry, and bright, tasty butter chicken."
"After a recommendation from a NZ Indian brother this week, it was too hard to ignore & had to find out for myself how amazing the food is here. Tucked away in a grocer supermarket is this little local gem!! Friendly owner who was more than willing to accommodate more chilli into my butter chicken which I ordered along with 2x Garlic & Cheese Naan breads & also a mixed pickle & mango chutney which was superb! Fresh & piping hot! The only way to eat it! Best Indian I have tasted in a long time, not too expensive & definitely a bang for your buck! They have $12 specials on Mondays & Tuesdays which would be ideal for our family of 8 as we all love Indian cuisine. Thank you again for the delicious food! The pics just don't do it justice!"
