Nestled between the majestic mountains and the sparkling sea, our Exceeding-rated before and after school care service, Fun Club Thirroul, is making waves in their sustainability efforts, led by the children themselves.

Under the guidance of Director Bridy Garnon and a team of like-minded educators, Fun Club Thirroul is at the forefront of creating a sustainable future. We believe in teaching our children the importance of reducing their carbon footprint while having fun along the way!

At Thirroul Fun Club, we understand the significance of protecting our natural environment and implementing sustainable practices. Our service is a tight-knit community of educators, children, families, and school members who share a common vision of minimizing our ecological footprint, embracing change, and educating others. In line with our Acknowledgment of Country statement, we provide children with ample opportunities to explore, engage with, and learn about the wonders of the natural world.

Through reflective programming, our dedicated team of educators regularly meet to discuss the interests and ideas raised by our students, aged between 5 to 12 years. We then incorporate these interests into our educational programs. In addition to this, Fun Club Thirroul has implemented several sustainability initiatives, including:

Furthermore, we have also started our own veggie garden where we grow lettuce and potatoes. These fresh produce are then used for cooking within our service. The garden has been made possible through generous donations from our local community, and we recently received additional support from our local Bunnings Store in Bellambi, who donated 20 bags of soil, pavers, and other items to renovate our garden.

Recently, the children of Fun Club Thirroul collaborated on a beautiful art piece entitled "Saving the Ocean ft. Seaweed the Turtle." This artwork symbolizes our commitment and efforts to protect and preserve the natural world that we cherish and enjoy.
