About the Business
Welcome to Bugeido Karate Australia Tasmania, located in the beautiful suburb of Mornington on Derinya Street. As an establishment that focuses on health and well-being, we are a point of interest for those seeking to experience traditional karate and master the art through authentic training.
At Bugeido Shotokan Karate-do Australia, we are proud members of Bugeido Australia, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality instruction and guidance. Our institution caters to individuals of all ages, starting from our youngest members, the Kodomos. Children aged between 4 and 6 years can join our Komodos class, which is the perfect opportunity to introduce your child to the fun and confidence that comes with participating in Bugeido karate classes. In this class, your child will learn essential lessons in self-control, confidence, and coordination. Our experienced instructors provide clear and structured lessons, ensuring that your child receives the best possible training.
As our Komodos progress, they have the opportunity to join our Pewees class, which is designed for children aged 7 to 11 years. In this class, they will continue to learn the skills and techniques of traditional Bugeido Shotokan Karate in a practical, traditional, and disciplined way. Our Pewees are taught self-defense and disarming techniques, as well as the importance of respect, self-discipline, and patience. Building new friendships and assisting each other in achieving a sense of purpose and independence are also integral parts of this class.
For juniors aged 12 years and above, we offer advanced training in Bugeido Karate. Many of our juniors have progressed through our Komodos and Pewees classes, but we also warmly welcome new members to join us at this stage. Our juniors have the opportunity to train with our adult students, allowing them to learn from more experienced practitioners. They will focus on their own growth and personal goals, developing higher levels of self-control and concentration. Bugeido karate provides a safe and structured environment for our juniors to channel their excess energy. We emphasize the importance of observing and respecting the traditions of Bugeido karate, ensuring clear expectations for behavior.
At Bugeido Karate Australia, there is no age limit for participation. Our adult class welcomes individuals aged 15 years and above, with students ranging from 15 years all the way to 50 years and beyond. As an adult student, you will have the opportunity to build your fitness and techniques as you progress through the karate grades. Our supportive community helps each other through personal development, and many of our adult students achieve the rank of black belt, experiencing a sense of achievement and satisfaction. Karate for adults is the perfect way to get back in shape and focus your energy on achieving personal and lifelong goals. Our experienced adult students are always available to lend a helping hand to newcomers.
Join us at Bugeido Karate Australia Tasmania and experience the transformative power of traditional karate. Whether you are a child, junior, or adult, our authentic training and experienced instructors will guide you on your journey to mastering the art of Bugeido karate.

Reviews
"Amazing location with a great group of instructors and students. Highly recommended."
"My Son and I have been at this school for over a year now and we are really enjoying it. It is great we still have a karate school in Tasmania that follows the disciplines and traditions of real Karate, and as a bonus we are learning about practical self defence. It has built confidence in my son and I havn't been this fit it 20 years! Great stuff."
