Pelverata Falls Pelverata, Tasmania 7150
About the Business
Welcome to Pelverata Falls, a breathtaking tourist attraction located in the Snug Tiers Nature Reserve, just south of Hobart in Tasmania's Huon Valley Council. This establishment is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
Pelverata Falls is a magnificent waterfall that cascades from a height of approximately 100 meters, creating a mesmerizing sight. The hike to the falls is a rewarding experience, taking around 1.5 hours to complete along a 5.2km return trail. However, we recommend allowing extra time to fully immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings.
Depending on the weather conditions, the falls can vary in their appearance. During dry periods, the waterfall may be less impressive, but after heavy rainfall, it transforms into a truly awe-inspiring spectacle. Timing your visit right can lead to an unforgettable encounter with nature's beauty.
The journey to Pelverata Falls begins by traversing the outskirts of farmland before venturing into a dense eucalyptus woodland. The trail gently undulates for the first kilometer, passing through a jungle-like area. Be cautious during wet weather, as the trail can become muddy and require careful navigation.
As you progress, the trail winds around a massive rocky outcropping, offering glimpses of Slippery Falls on the distant slope to the right. Eventually, you will reach the Pelverata Falls viewpoint platform, which provides the best vantage point to admire the falls and the creek below. Remember to retrace your steps to return to the carpark.
For more experienced hikers, a rough track below the overlook leads to the brook. However, we strongly advise against inexperienced walkers or children venturing beyond the overlook, especially when the rocks are wet, as they can be extremely treacherous. Your safety is of utmost importance, so please exercise caution and stay within your comfort zone.
Located approximately one hour's drive south of Hobart, reaching Pelverata Falls is a straightforward journey. Simply head south on the Channel Highway towards Kingston, then turn right onto the Huon Highway. At Sandfly, take a left onto Sandfly Road, followed by a right onto Pelverata Road. Finally, turn left onto Umfrevilles Road until you reach the Snug Tiers Nature Recreation Area.
Prepare to be captivated by the natural wonders of Pelverata Falls. Plan your visit today and embark on an unforgettable adventure through Tasmania's picturesque landscapes.

"This was a 3 hour return walk from the car park. U can’t get to the falls the other way down as it is now privately owned land so you have to trek There’s paths up and down hills and very rocky to get to them. I am not fit nor a hiker and I stopped halfway as I found it to treacherous for me to continue!"
"Too many pointy sticks, same ones as at Snug Falls. Got our boots dirty, clouds everywhere and the waterfall is excessively loud. Not recommended."
"Not a bad little walk, sign says 3 hours but only took us an hour and a half hours. Best to go after there has beena lot of rain to get the most out of the waterfall. But nice easy short walk over all. :-)"
"This is a great walk starting as a wide easy trail narrows up to a rocky trail on the edge of a steep loop offering mild challenges and stunning panoramic views the water fall was near dry with just a little water flowing near the end of feb but well worth the walk reminded me of water fall walks I did in WA."
