"Jarryd just recently spent 1 day attending the to our bonsai collection in just 5 hours work Jarryd worked on nearly 20 trees both exotic and native evergreen plus deciduous He is an amazing bonsai artist he works hard and is very fast at making all the right decisions to improve our trees. He and I discuss all possibilities of how the trees should progress and then an out come is jointly made. Never does he impose his idea on the tree he always lets the tree lead the dance. His horticultural knowledge is so complete in every way and possesses a unique aesthetic sensibility that is unmatched in a bonsai master. When potting up new bonsai trees his out standing knowledge of ceramic art leads to choosing the correct pot that completely enhances the tree this ability is so rare and essential. He also understands that it is essential to use a high quality potting mix to ensure that the tree performs at it's best. We now only use his imported potting medium.... why pot up a tree in just plain dirt. Jarryd has helped me greatly to understand each individual tree in our extensive collection to bring the particular tree to life. Jarryd has spent many years in perfecting his art after studying with a Bonsai Master in America. He gives workshops and demonstrations both here in Tasmania and on the mainland. If you want to see a superb collection of bonsai trees visit Jarryd and Hanna's collection in Collinsvale just a short drive from Hobart with magnificent views along the way of both exotic and native bonsai trees (endemic to Tasmania) check out the Huon pine's. I have tried the rest that has lead to a lot of mindless confusion....now I stay with the best.... that is if you want value and outstanding quality for money. P.S. recently I purchased a superb 50 year old Japanese Maple bonsai in a plastic pot Jarryd scoured the earth to find me a very old Japanese bonsai pot to suit the tree....such is the man. When the pot arrived from Japan it was a perfect fit."
"Jarryd and co (sorry I'm terrible with names) where excellent. The quality of trees is amazing. So many native trees endemic to Tassie. As well as imports (exotics and mainland) definitely worth making an appointment to come and see if your interested in bonsai. If your out of state or with friends it's also only 15 min from MONA to help satisfy those not into bonsai while you indulge your love of little trees."
"I attended a full days tuition with Jarryd and couldn't recommend it enough. I had a casual interest in bonsai but after this session have a new found appreciation for the art. Jarryd is patient, knowledgeable and passionate which makes him an excellent teacher. If you have any interest in bonsai or gardening in general you would gain so much from any tuition from Jarryd, and would appreciate seeing all of his extensive collection of bonsai."
