Welcome to the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), an establishment and point of interest located at Battery Point, Castray Esplanade, 20 in Australia. Our institution is dedicated to collecting real-time ocean observations in collaboration with fishers, focusing on areas where these observations are most crucial.

At IMOS, we understand the importance of monitoring and understanding Australia's marine environment. That's why we hosted a symposium at the recent AMSA conference on the Gold Coast, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss advancements in marine observation and research.

One of our recent achievements is the development of a new open access database. This database contains microbial genomic data from across the Great Barrier Reef and can be accessed through the AODN Portal. Researchers and scientists can now explore this valuable resource to enhance their understanding of the reef's ecosystem.

IMOS is grateful for the support and partnership of various organizations. We receive co-investment, funding, and operational support from the Tasmanian, Western Australian, and Queensland State Governments. This collaboration enables us to continue our important work in monitoring and studying Australia's marine environment.
