"I am sorry to say I had an absolutely horrendous experience here a few months ago - enough that I don’t really want to write about it. But I and my peers feel like I should warn any person wanting to get an IUD away from this place, and from Dr Brown in particular. I felt unsafe, unheard and violated. Reception does not communicate well, the doctor blatantly ignored my comfort, consent and wishes, and very little care was given to me post-surgery (I wasn’t even offered to sit for a few minutes to recover after having my first ever IUD placed with no pain medication!) - instead they instructed me to get dressed straight after surgery, and head to reception to pay. In short, my body went into a violent stress-response. I nearly fainted in their reception and spent the next 45min holed up in their bathroom - and they continued to ask me to leave. A simple vaccination at your local pharmacy requires a full 15 minutes of oversight and rest prior to leaving a clinic - I had expected much better aftercare from a women’s health provider, particularly after a painful and invasive surgery. When I emailed (polite) feedback, my concerns were brushed aside (“we’re sorry you feel that way”) and made to be my own fault. I am not confident any changes will be made to their conduct or practices. Even my GP is appalled by my experience. I tell anybody and everybody not to visit this clinic."
"Never in my life have I heard a ruder receptionist. If someone calls your practice the first interaction they have is with your receptionist so at least make sure they have some common courtacy."
"I feel that the practice nurse is a very uncaring woman."
