"Although the ER was very busy at time of visit, I felt like all of my concerns were being brushed off, and when my blood pressure was taken and read 175/131 as a healthy 20 year old presenting with a severe headache, nausea and dizziness was just ignored. I completely understand the triage process and there were people more unwell than me, but even I know that BP and collection of symptoms doesn’t mean good things. Ended up leaving as we waited for 3.5 hours and were told it was going to be a much longer wait. Felt very judged by the triage nurse at the time of presentation too."
"We went into emergency department and end up waiting to see someone more than 1.5 hr. If that’s emergency department service of theirs than I wonder what would be normal. Terrible experience."
"4yr old with a fever of 39.6° and we waited for 6hrs without seeing a Dr is abhorrent. The triage nurse was amazing and continued to check obs whilst there and had an amazing bedside manner. After 4hrs of waiting and knowing how tried and miserable the 4yr old was, triage nurse advocated for a PCR without seeing the Dr. After 90mins, we had a diagnosis and triage nurse recommended to go home to rest and provided comprehensive resources on how to manage the now diagnosed viral infection. I understand it's an ED and there's many competing priorities, but there needs to be a better processes to manage paediatric patients."
"Visited here experiencing palpation and shivering. There was a long line waiting as well as children screaming. Even though I told them that my chest was paining I ended up waiting for 2 hours to see a doctor. Blood test was taken and they said that we’ll see the result in 45 minutes, I waited for another 2 hours for the result. Is this how hospitals work in Australia? Why is this place even called an emergency room? I’ve never been to other hospitals here but I was so shocked how awful it was."
