Welcome to Garawa Preschool at The Entrance Public School! Located at 80 Oakland Avenue, our preschool is a Department of Education establishment and a point of interest in the local community. The word "Garawa" comes from the Darkinyung language and means Ocean/Sea, reflecting the beautiful surroundings of our location.

At Garawa Preschool, we offer a five day fortnight program. The Channel Group attends on Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternate Wednesdays, while the Lake Group attends on alternate Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Each group has 20 placements available, providing a total of 40 placements. While our priority of enrolment is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, we warmly welcome enrolments from all families in our local community.

Our main goal at Garawa Preschool is to extend and enrich children's learning during their last year before starting Kindergarten. We work closely with the primary school to ensure a smooth transition for our students. Our nurturing environment is designed to make children feel happy, safe, and secure as they engage in play-based learning experiences. Our program and practices are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework.
