About the Business
Welcome to Gorokan High School, a prestigious institution located in Gorokan, Australia. As a prominent establishment, point of interest, and secondary school, we have a strong reputation for HSC success. Our school is academically selective and comprehensive, catering to selective, local, and special needs students.
At Gorokan High School, we believe in embracing the Stronger Smarter philosophy, especially for our Aboriginal students. We focus on building achievement through cultural strengthening, ensuring that every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.
To further support our students, we offer a range of services. One such service is the Muru Bulbi AECG Pathways to Learning program, organized by the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. This program aims to provide additional support and resources to our Aboriginal students. We also have regular meetings and events, such as the AGM, to foster a sense of community and inclusivity.
For students interested in the construction industry, we offer the WHS Construction Industry White Card Course. This course is essential for anyone looking to work on a construction site in NSW, whether it be for a TAFE construction course, apprenticeship, or traineeship. It covers workplace health and safety requirements, hazard assessment, emergency handling, and more. Participants must be at least 14 years old and provide a copy of their Australian Birth Certificate. The course costs $100 and can be arranged through our Careers Adviser, Mr. Robertson.
We also value the involvement of parents and carers in their child's education. We regularly hold Parent Information Evenings, providing an opportunity for parents and carers to stay informed and engaged in their child's academic journey. These evenings are informative and include light refreshments.
As the HSC exams approach, we understand that students and their families may experience stress. We are here to support and guide our students through this challenging period. Our dedicated staff are available to provide assistance and guidance when needed.
Gorokan High School is proud to offer the NSW Government Infrastructure Traineeship, a two-year program that kickstarts future careers. This traineeship provides a pathway for students interested in the field of infrastructure, offering valuable experience and skills.
We also celebrate Education Week, an annual event that acknowledges the achievements of NSW public education. This week is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and schools.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We recognize the strength, resilience, and spirit of our nation's first people and honor their ongoing contribution to our community.

"There seems to be a fire in the bathroom... the women fights are intense..."
"My daughter literally got thrown off a balcony and none of the teachers believed her."
"I used to teach a sport at this school and its a pleasure to see how good its looking now. They have kept up with programs the school looks great."
"Went through the selective class from year 7. I learnt everything I could ever need to know to accomplish my lifelong dream of delivering pizzas for the rest of my life. 10/10 would wag English again."
"The volume of bullying that goes unaddressed is ridiculous. My son has been punched, kicked, had his belongings constantly thrown out the classroom window and threatened and yet the school does nothing. Thankfully the Deputy head teacher appears to be more interested in ending this behavior than other faculty."
