Welcome to Charlestown Child Care Centre, a community-based, not-for-profit institution located on Mulbinga Street in Charlestown, Australia. Since 1986, we have been dedicated to providing high-quality childcare at an affordable price for local families.

Approved by the NSW Department of Education and rated Exceeding National Quality Standard, we prioritize creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment surrounded by natural and calming surroundings. Our family-oriented approach is supported by a team of experienced educators with diverse interests and backgrounds, offering unique learning opportunities for your child.

With an open-door policy, we warmly welcome children, families, and the community. We believe in fostering open and honest communication between families and educators, as well as providing an open-ended environment that encourages freedom, imagination, and joy in children's play.

At Charlestown Child Care Centre, we value a deep connection with the natural world. We believe it is crucial for children to appreciate, engage with, and fully experience the wonders of nature. This value is reflected in our physical environment, program, and interactions with children.

Our educators work closely with you to plan and document your child's experiences, building on their interests and abilities while aligning with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) outcomes. We aim to help children develop a sense of connection and contribution to their world.

Managed by a volunteer parent management committee, our centre offers two rooms catering to different age groups. The Sugar Glider Room caters to babies and toddlers (0-3 years), accommodating a maximum of 15 children. The Lilly Pilly Room caters to preschool-aged children (3-5 years), with a maximum of 25 children.

Our daily fees for 2022 are currently $112 per day (full fee only), excluding the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Additionally, we have an annual fundraising levy of $20 per term per family and an enrolment levy of $50 per child, which includes association membership fees. We also provide late afternoon tea, with a menu created by our onsite cook based on the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
