Welcome to Cardiff Community Preschool, located at 152 Main Road in Cardiff Heights, Australia. Our preschool is a vibrant and inviting establishment that takes pride in its natural surroundings. As soon as you step through our front gate, you are greeted by the sight of a beautiful Jacaranda tree, which provides a burst of color and life during the spring months.

As you make your way along our entrance, you will walk alongside established plants and a paved sloped path that leads you to a warm and welcoming timber deck. From this deck, you can take in the tranquil and natural environment that surrounds us. Our entrance is designed to be accessible for all children, with wide paths, smooth surfaces, and wide doorways.

Stepping out onto our outdoor environment, you will discover a range of open-ended and natural exploration spaces. Our large gum trees offer cool shade in the summer and provide materials for various activities. The bark can be used for art projects, gum nuts can be used for counting and pattern making, and gum leaves are perfect for our bush kitchen.

We also have a variety of fruit and citrus trees, which allow the children to experience the joy of home-grown foods. They can pick mulberries from our mulberry tree and enjoy oranges and mandarins for their afternoon tea if they wish.

One of our unique features is the "Exploration Creek Bed" that wraps around our sandpit. Children can walk through this creek bed, balancing and wrapping their toes over different shaped river bed stones. They can also stack stones and explore our small fish pond, which is home to two goldfish.

Our Bush Kitchen is a place where children's imagination and creativity can flourish. It provides an open-ended natural environment where educators encourage children to manipulate and create using water, sand, and mud.

At Cardiff Community Preschool, we are committed to sustainability and being environmentally responsible. As part of our daily routine, we teach children the importance of feeding our morning tea scraps to the animals, embedding sustainability practices into our curriculum.
