"I really liked the Kotu Roti and I'll come back later. We came for dinner on Friday, one of the only nights it's open. Only a few people there. $20 per head but the portion size was larger than I could finish so I took the rest to go. The food was great and there were some other options I want to go back and try."
"What started out as a street food van outlet, has now become a dine in cafe. The cafe still has that street food vibe with the Volkswagen van located out the front, outdoor seating and graffiti art on the interior walls. Lunch menu is not extensive though there are plenty of options, including 3 desserts. Wattalapam is my favourite Sri Lankan dessert though sadly it was sold out during this visit. There are classic Sri Lankan string hoppers and Kottu roti on the menu, and 4 varieties of curry rolls - Chicken, lamb, fish and vegetarian. There is a slightly different menu for Dinners and Saturday lunch that include regular hoppers. Service is quick and staff are friendly. Worth a visit or more. Best to park at Westfield Woden or at the Hellenic Club and walk to Short Eats Cafe."
"Six months ago, this place was SO amazing. My colleagues and I went back in early May 2023 and we were extremely disappointed. The $15 lunch portion size had shrunk and they had run out of some dishes and pappadums by 12.45pm. Our lamb curry, although tasty, consisted of four small pieces of meat and the eggplant curry was 90% onions. One of my colleagues didn't get any eggplant at all! We were regular visitors but I'm afraid we won't be going back."
"Delicious curries at affordable prices. I can recommend their egg plant curry. It can be a bit crowded at lunch time after 12:15 so keep that in mind."
"Yummy curries, great vego and vegan options. Tiny portion when ordering the eggplant though in comparison to Lentils. Yummy roti."
