Newborn Intensive Care Foundation Garran, Australian Capital Territory 2605
About the Business
Welcome to the webpage of the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation (NICF) in Garran, Australian Capital Territory. As an establishment and point of interest, our mission is to provide critically ill newborn babies with the best chance to lead healthy, normal lives.
At NICF, we are dedicated to funding medical equipment, research, and nurse education. We are proud to share that 100% of general donations go directly towards these causes. By supporting us, you are helping to prevent brain damage, lung damage, Cerebral Palsy, blindness, and a host of other complications faced by premature or sick newborn babies.
One of our exciting initiatives is the regular raffles we run. By participating, you have the chance to win amazing prizes while supporting our cause. Be sure to check our webpage for any ongoing raffles.
We are currently urging people from the Canberra region to take part in the bake challenge. Our goal is to raise funds for the purchase of a live video streaming system called Angel Eye for the Canberra neonatal and special care nursery. This system will replace the aging NICUcam, which no longer receives technical support. Research has shown that when mothers can see a live stream of their babies in the NICU or SCN, they experience reduced separation anxiety, feel more comfortable spending time with their other children, and find it easier to express themselves.
Additionally, we are raising funds to provide 10 Wellington Sofa beds for the Maternity Unit at Sale Hospital. These sofa beds will allow partners to stay overnight and support mothers during this potentially stressful time.
Furthermore, we are working towards acquiring a fourth Neocot for Bairnsdale Hospital's Maternity Unit. This will enhance the care provided to newborns in the region.
To achieve our fundraising goals, NICF will be running Bake for Babies 2023 from 1 June to 31 August. We have a policy that ensures money raised in a region stays in that region, ensuring local impact.
Participating in the bake challenge is simple. Whether you prefer baking scones, cakes, pizzas, muffins, biscuits, or slices, you can sell them to friends, family, or colleagues and then deposit the proceeds into the NICF Bake for Babies account. If baking isn't your forte, you can also seek sponsorships to support our cause. The concept is as broad as you'd like to make it. Will you take the bake challenge and help us make a difference?
Join us in our mission to provide critically ill newborn babies with the best chance at a healthy, normal life. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these precious little ones.

Reviews
"The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation Canberra was founded in 1995 by the same people that run it now. The NICF continues to give enduring and effective support and equipment for essential neonatal services provided to the families of Canberra and surrounding regions by the skilled professionals working in Canberra Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Ward"
"The NICF enables much needed additional support to the families of our littlest people when they all most need it. What a fantastic initiative. Thanks so much."
