Welcome to Canberra Youth Theatre, located in the vibrant suburb of Braddon on Batman Street. As a point of interest and establishment, we are proud to offer a platform for young artists to engage in bold and courageous theatre that truly represents the voice of youth.

At Canberra Youth Theatre, we believe in the power of intelligent and challenging theatre to express the thoughts, ideas, and stories of young people. Our loyal group of theatre lovers is dedicated to supporting the creation of theatre that pushes boundaries and sparks conversations.

For emerging artists and writers aged 18–25, Canberra Youth Theatre provides valuable professional development opportunities to kickstart their careers in the arts. We offer workshops and programs that allow young artists in school Years 1–12 to explore their creativity, express their unique voice, and share their stories through the medium of theatre.

We also want to take a moment to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we collaborate, share stories, and create art – the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. With a rich history of over 60,000 years of culture and storytelling, we celebrate their enduring connection to the lands and waters of our region. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging, and recognize that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
