Reviews
"Dined here on the 18/08/23 I was really skeptical about eating here after reading so many poor reviews - but my friend and I gave it a go and it was lovely. Staff were really friendly, the food was really nice, service was really quick. The menu is limited (which is stated in other reviews) but we knew this going in, it has to be to permit quick service for shows, etc. The setup / atmosphere is a bit like the cafe/restaurant was an after thought for the Festival Theatre - but it was warm, tidy and you could hear your own conversation without feeling like everyone else could too. We were really pleasantly surprised and glad we didn’t go off a lot of the reviews. I would eat here again before a show."
"Front of house staff were not warm or welcoming. An inviting atmosphere. The views were good. Miserable selection of drinks. Menu was beyond basic."
"Very hard to write a review honestly because of the experience we had. We were excited about eating here and being so organised to enjoy a show. We were happy with the choices on the menu and the promise we received when we booked that we would be fed on time. Unfortunately according to the staff there was a computer gliche and our order didn't get put through to the kitchen. It arrived as we were departing to get into the theatre on time. The meals looked delicious. The staff were very apologetic and tried to help us by giving us packets of crisps. We realised that we left without paying for our drinks which we apologise for. Reading other reviews now I see that this has happened before and one can only hope that the company will improve as this is for many an ideal situation."
"Arrived at 5pm to have dinner before our Musical which started at 6:30pm. No one came to take our order until 5:20pm. We did not receive our meal until 6:07pm, leaving us only 8 minutes to eat our meal before arriving to our gate. Many people left without receiving their meal because of the long wait. When we complained we were told that there was only 1 chef and the issue is that everyone shows up at the same time. However, for a restaurant that is based at the Festival Theatre you would assume they would be prepared for people coming for a meal prior to their show. Very disappointed. The quantity of the food was not worth the price."
"Very disappointing dining experience before a matinee show. I don’t understand why the only dining space in the Festival Theatre has such a limited menu and no ambience. The staff were very young and not very experienced. Certainly not experienced in hospitality. Our food was served in cardboard bowls with bamboo cutlery. The server said he didn’t know where the metal cutlery was. The dining area had half the tables in disarray and tables in the back area had tablecloths. It felt like a conference space. The toasted croissant was not fresh. The arancini balls were tasty. At least I could enjoy a lovely glass of champagne before the show. Not the experience I imagined at our premier entertainment venue"
