"We live in the area and noticed that this restaurant is always quite full on weekends. We decided to try it and we brought along friends. BIG MISTAKE!! The older lady which we found out through another staff member, is the actual owner. She was so rude with zero customer service skills. We ordered generous entrees and main dishes as we wanted to try a few different dishes. We decided and advised this lady that we may order something else if we needed to. She said we couldn’t order anything else later and had to order everything right there and then. She had made no eye contact, no greeting or facial expression at all. We then saw her return back to behind the counter talking to another staff member and pointing to our table and giving us the death stare. Couldn’t believe her attitude being the owner and working in customer service. As it turned out the food was average…..all sauces mass produced with not the usual Asian flavours. Do not waste your time or money here. Not worth being made to feel uncomfortable…we wished we had walked out. Shame."
"Excellent service. Food well above average. Only complaint if you coukd call it that was tables a bit too small to hold all dishes ordered. So good having lunch there again tomorrow"
"A group of 10 attended tonight a bill worth $250+ and charged us 80 cents for a glass of ice. Won't be going back there and won't recommend it either. We also had to ask for water, and wine glasses and only 6 of us had wine but we were charged for 10 of us. Very small inside, noisy couldn't hear each as it was so noisy. No atmosphere."
"Lunchtime meal was as good as the evening meal. Banquet at $45 was good value, but I doubted I could eat that much. So we went individual orders, and that averaged $37.90 for entre, main with: shared plates of Singapore noodles + fried rice. Most utensils and crockery is dated, but they are moving soon, and would assume new everything in the new location. Lunchtime weekdays is definitely they time to eat. Still very good food and relatively quiet"
"When coming to this restaurant, the first thing that comes to mind is that it's hard to find the restaurant. The front entrance is gated off towards what looks to be a lawn bowls club and tavern. It's only when you walk through the gates can you see the entrance to the restaurant on the left hand side. Even then, there's no clear signage to show the name of the restaurant. The restaurant itself has an indoor and outdoor section. The indoor section has a low ceiling and surrounded by glass sliding doors / windows. The problem with this is that it gets incredibly noisy when there's a full house. It makes speaking to people on the same table a bit of a shouting match. We came in a group of 7 and ordered the crispy skin roast duck, Hainan chicken, stir fried beans, prawns & rice vermicelli pot, bak kut teh, beef brisket pot, and fried sticky rice. The best of the dishes in my opinion was the crispy skin roast duck. The duck was very tender and succulent and cooked to perfection - a quality that is sometimes hard to find in Chinese restaurants in Brisbane. The beef brisket was also very soft and tender. The Hainan chicken was not authentic as it did not come with the traditional ginger & shallot dipping sauce, nor did the chicken feel like it was marinated with the traditional sources. Nevertheless, the chicken itself was cooked very well and was soft and tender. Service was relatively good considering it was so busy. I believe we may have ordered some dishes that might not ordinarily be on the main menu as we managed to ask the manager for any special dishes and we were recommended several dishes. Parking was a little difficult to find despite a carpark right in front of the precinct. The restaurant shares the precinct with a tavern which may explain the carpark being so full. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place however I would probably prefer to sit outside the next time."
