Advanced Psychology Services was founded by Dr Anna Steele and Dr Simon Wilksch, both highly experienced psychologists with PhDs in the area of eating disorders. With over 18 years of combined experience, they have worked extensively with individuals facing eating disorders and related problems. Their expertise spans various settings, including hospitals, community-based programs, and international treatment trials.

In addition to their clinical work, Anna and Simon are actively involved in research on eating disorder risk factors, prevention, and treatment. Their findings have been published in reputable international journals and books, and they have presented their research at numerous national and international conferences.

At Advanced Psychology Services, we specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, and related issues. We offer 50-minute appointments tailored to the individual needs of our clients. To ensure accessibility, we have provided a referral form on our website that can be completed by your GP or other treating health professional. Once we receive the completed form, our team will be in touch to confirm the waiting list time and discuss appointment options. It is important to note that our practice does not offer bulk billing.

To help alleviate the financial burden, we encourage clients to explore Medicare rebates through Eating Disorders Plans (EDPs) or Mental Health Care Plans (MHCPs). These plans can provide rebates for up to 40 sessions per 12-month period, with the need for a GP review after each 10 sessions. Additionally, Medicare Safety Nets can help lower out-of-pocket costs, and our admin team is available to provide further information on Medicare thresholds.
