"I had day surgery here and the nurses in the recovery unit were outstanding! I have never had such good service and been looked after so well, especially by Kat, Rachel, and Carla. Everyone was so friendly, showed genuine care, and were very helpful. Thank you!"
"Day surgery and I felt like I was staying in a 5 star hotel .. from the welcome, admin staff, nurses just wonderful .. Dr Argyrides and his anesthetist, amazing .. so professional and thorough .. thank you all so very much .. I would give 6 stars if I could .. highly recommend for any procedure ⭐️"
"All I will say is fir a private hospital not good..public hosp never had an issue.was left on a bed pan for 40 min .had to lift myself of and carefully put pan on bed table..just had op so wasn't good.. waited 2hrs for a nurse after I pushed the button..many nurses doing blood pressure and machine broken..absolutely hopeless.never again"
"Was in for a mid afternoon procedure - my Dr and his staff excellent but administration there is awful. Failed to call my partner post-op as promised - my partner waited and waited for a call, none came, so they waited to 9pm and then decided to go to the hospital to see what was going on, only to be told they couldn’t find me….they did find me in the end, but not only did no one call my partner post operatively, they failed to find me in the system when they came to visit me. Unfortunately I did not do well post operatively at home and rang them for help as advised at discharge (my Dr was away and unavailable) - it’s also on the discharge form that an overnight patient etc is able to have a review if things are not going well post op. The triage person I had on the phone told me it was a mental issue and to go see my GP. I know my body, I know the procedure I had done, and I need to be seen at the hospital for possible readmission. My GP will not know what to do and will advise I see my surgeon who is away or go wait for hours at another hospital. And take panadol. That seems to be the standard advice these days. Go home and take Panadol. The staff at St Andrew’s did not offer any help whatsoever, except advising go to GP, and she decided on the phone without seeing me or examining me or knowing my history or what procedure I had done, that my post op discomfort and symptoms were all mental related - that is not possible - she is not a doctor and therefore can not make a diagnosis, let alone over the phone. Diagnoses are not done over the phone and assumptions should not be made. That is where severe medical errors can occur, but I was fobbed off and turned away. I know I’m not the only one this has happened to. Absolutely terrible service, not to mention dangerous because without seeing a patient, a diagnosis can not be made - diagnoses can only be made by a doctor after physical examination and looking at the history, and no one should EVER assume."
"The staff at St Andrews Hospital were friendly, helpful and caring during my visit. Dr Kollias was very personable and explained the procedure in detail so that I felt fully informed and comfortable with the treatment. His expertise was evident throughout the entire process and I always felt that he was looking out for my best interests. The hospital was well-maintained and the staff was highly professional. The pre-operative and post-operative care were both exemplary, and all my questions were answered promptly. I felt that my safety and well-being were the top priority of everyone involved. Overall, I had a very positive experience at St Andrews Hospital and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for excellent surgical care and a great overall experience. Shout out to nurse Rose who looked after me in pre-op, you are a beautiful, caring person."
