"I have registered for the Certification IV in Cyber Security, delivered by Mr. Laknath WATAWALA. The study mode was "Online Fast Study" over 6 months period with a total hours of over 40 nominal hours per week. When I registered, I asked the school registration officer if this lecturer would be available if any questions and I was told that he would about 3 days in the week. However, there was an official "study time" with the lecturer on Tuesday from 9:30 to Noon weekly. I asked to have the printed learner's guides for each module as I find it difficult to work through PDF on screen. They printed some modules for me. Mr Watawala instructed me to read the first module and do the provided 2 assessments, but to send them to him before submitting them for grading. I asked him if there will be any hands on lab exerecises or virtual environment to setup and he told me that there is none of that and everything is plain written... This disappointed me greatly. I started reading the first module. It was only a few pages and when I read the assessments questions, it was just a matter of copying and pasting the PDF learner's guide content to their respective questions and that was it. I passed the first module easy! Same for second module and so on. I have contacted the lecturer a few times in the first couple of weeks to clarify things. He refused to respond and told me that my time is only on Tuesday 9:30 to Noon and that he is not working out of this time slot. However, he cancelled one session and did not offer an alternative study time for that week. I found that absolutely disrepectful and I realised that I would go nowhere and learn absolutely nothing with this school and especially this lecturer. What good is it by giving all the answers to assessments so no study is needed? I got a full refund for this course and as I was being registered as a JobSeeker, I found it shameful for a school to receive government funds for this type of education and course delivery. They are stealing our tax money and should be shut down. I have switched to TAFE SA and I now receive something I was really looking for. Multiple courses with different lecturers, study times well constructed with IT studies times as well, hands on labs, virtual machines, software to download and install, etc... The REAL DEAL at TAFE SA. If you are only after a certification without studying, take the AIBT course. If you want to actually learn something, stay away from this school for this course. I can't talk about any other courses offered at this trainiing provider and I hope they are better..."
