QuickSteps Dance Club Studio 255 Gouger Street, Adelaide, South Australia 5000
About the Business
Welcome to QuickSteps Dance Club Studio, located at 255 Gouger Street in Adelaide, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our dance studio offers a variety of classes and events for dancers of all levels.
At QuickSteps, we believe that dance events are not only important for practicing your dance moves, but also provide wonderful social opportunities. We offer a range of dance styles, including Salsa and Bachata. Join us for our Bachata Practica every Wednesday evening at 8:30pm or Bailamos on Friday nights at 9:15pm.
If ballroom styles are more your style, don't miss our Smooth Wednesday class at 9:15pm each week, as well as our monthly dance party and Ballroom Blitz events. And mark your calendars for our highly anticipated Winter Gala and Summer Festival events! All the details can be found on our event page.
For those who love Rock 'n Roll, we have Monthly Sundays Rock events, as well as organized outings to venues around Adelaide where you can dance up a storm. Stay updated on all our events by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
Whether you come to our studio alone or as a couple, you'll find plenty of opportunities to dance. Around 70% of our members come by themselves, so there are always other people to dance with. However, if you prefer to dance as a couple, that's perfectly fine too. In our group classes, one side of the room changes dance partners while the other side remains with their partner.
If you're new to dancing, we recommend starting with private lessons. Group classes can come later when you feel more confident. When booking your private lessons, be sure to ask about the quietest times at the studio to avoid heavy traffic and lots of spectators. And remember, most people are too focused on their own dancing to pay attention to others.
Many of our members joined QuickSteps as a way to "ditch the gym" and found that dancing is a fun and enjoyable substitute. Dancing regularly can improve aerobic fitness, flexibility, balance, and overall toning. We recommend attending 2-3 dance classes per week to see real improvements.
Our dance studio, cafe, and bar are open 7 days a week. Monday to Friday from 12pm to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4:30pm. Additionally, we host social events and functions outside of these hours on weekends. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram or check our events page to stay updated.
Booking your preferred time at QuickSteps is quick and easy, taking only 1 minute. And when it comes to choosing a teacher, we are flexible. If you're learning as a couple, the gender of your teacher doesn't matter. If you're learning solo, women generally have male teachers, and men have female teachers.
We are excited to book your lesson and help you embark on your dance journey. Please note that the booking process may take up to 20 seconds.

"Greetings from the UK I used to sell newspapers outside this place in the 60's. Very fond memories of Adelaide. I think the place was called Fred Astaire's dance studio. Australia was always steps ahead in ballroom and what great photos of the students enjoying what they do best. I'm too old to return but wish you all continuing success. JJ"
"We started going to QuickSteps many years ago to learn some dancing for our wedding dance. We have since been students here for years and have found all the teachers to be very skilled at teaching dance and very friendly and approachable. All the staff are amazing with us and our kids and we would highly recommend the studio for anyone wanting to learn to dance."
"The QuickSteps community is unique. The company's, and its employees', culture is absolutely distinctive. The instructors welcome you to move at your own pace while simultaneously motivating you to aim for better performance. They are friendly, engaging, professional, and very patient. When you arrive alone, you are greeted with open arms, which is especially impactful. I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to QuickSteps and setting out on a fantastical dance experience!"
"Easily the best dance school in Adelaide! Friendly, welcoming staff take care of you from the moment you walk in, no matter how nervous you might be. The bar serves alcohol, among other drinks, so they only have adult students - no kids! They specialise in social dancing (but do wedding dances too), preparing you to go out & have a great night without the need for a routine. I was an instructor at QuickSteps a few years back & even though I may not teach anymore, it's just so much fun to swing by, catch up and dance with all the new, familiar and friendly faces."
"Fun studio, engaging staff and teachers, regular group lessons to help practice with private lessons to help you master your favourite styles. It has more of a familiar, welcoming club vibe than a typical studio with frequent social nights to hang out with other students/dancers. A great way to keep fit and learn something new with a strong emphasis on fun!"
