About the Business
Welcome to the Adelaide Botanic Garden, a renowned establishment located in the heart of Adelaide on North Terrace. As a park, point of interest, and a popular tourist attraction, the Adelaide Botanic Garden offers a unique experience that combines natural beauty with scientific endeavors.
One of our key focuses is the conservation of our state's threatened plants, and we invite you to join us on September 7th and 8th to meet the dedicated scientists who are working tirelessly to save these plants from extinction. By participating in this event, you can contribute to the protection of South Australia's threatened plant species, ensuring their existence for future generations to come.
For families with young adventurers, we have the delightful Wittunga's fun nature playspace. Bring your little explorers and watch as they immerse themselves in a world of nature-inspired play and discovery.
In addition to our conservation efforts and family-friendly activities, we are proud to present an extraordinary exhibition featuring augmented reality artworks. This free exhibition, located within the Adelaide Botanic Garden, showcases stunning digital collages, sculptures, and soundscapes that beautifully illuminate the native plants and trees of Australia through the lens of First Nations perspectives.
But the excitement doesn't stop there! We also host a wide range of events, activations, and workshops as part of the Nature Festival. Explore the gardens while participating in engaging activities that celebrate the wonders of nature.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a conservation advocate, or simply seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of the city, the Adelaide Botanic Garden is the perfect destination. Come and immerse yourself in the beauty of our diverse plant life, discover the importance of conservation, and enjoy the many experiences we have to offer.

"There are variety of plants in here and you can picnic or just walking around to see many different kinds of plants and taking photos. It's best to come here on sunny day, and if you come here near the end of winter the weather is still pretty chill so you'll not feel hot"
"One of the best places someone can have a relaxing walking time in the green city of Adelaide. It’s worthy to take your time and check the details and the small signs on the ground giving information about the plants and the history of the place."
"If staying in the CBD it is nice to visit. We visited in winter and it had a different character. I believe it will be nicer in spring."
"The garden is so beautiful. The glass structure, something like cottage, all these structures looks amazing. They have created something like rain forest inside that glass building. It was a really good experience to walk around there. The small pond inside the glass building has a beautiful fish. I would definitely recommend to go and visit this place."
"A sensational garden! Very well planned, lots of variety and we loved the little tracks through the trees! Well signed, lots of amusement and surprise and birds galore. We loved how many edible varieties there were too. Anyone visiting Adelaide with a few hours to kill will love this place. Also great for kids as there’s plenty of area to run about and also have a picnic. There was a special event on while we were there with big dinosaurs in the gardens and the kids seemed to be loving that!"
