"Midland ED at Triage is amazing, turning up at ED take a ticket- you are called within 5-10 minutes the first step, Nurses here very good 100%. Then you are asked to go the next stage to verify proof of identity and back to waiting area. Waiting area the wait is four hrs before anyone calls you if you are lucky, can be even 5hrs. Patients crying and getting distressed. After being called let's say you are going for blood test or x-ray, then back to the waiting area. Another 3hrs before going to see the Doctors. Let's say you are called to get inside, here you are asked to sit on the chair and wait, no one attending no communication for 3hrs. Nurses, Doctors useless in this stage, they just walk past and not even eye contact. The level of professionalism is below the expectation. Where are we heading to if thinking's are going this directions with the health care systems, this is why many lives are lost. If you are thinking of going to Midland ED give yourself 12hrs."
"Was my first time going to a hospital and first time with a procedure. We went in day surgery or procedure, I think it’s called, and everyone was so supportive the environment in there was just amazing. Every nurse was very nice and made me feel relaxed. I had Dr Suresh Ponnusamy and his team take care of me. I am not good with needles due to past experience but they all made me feel relaxed and one gorgeous lady even held my hand ! Thank you midland hospital, and say thank you to all of them for me !"
"The nurses are absolutely disgusting how they treat their patients. There were a couple who were nice but the rest in the maternity ward are not nice. I had a complicated birth, a c-section, and infection from the C section and was on very strong medication and wasn't myself. They have no empathy and one of them shamed me from not knowing enough about a baby, yet this was my first baby. Shame on you all and you know who you's are. Bad experience and never going there ever again for anything. Highly advise to not choosing this hospital for birth. Food was good and that's about it."
"I recently had a three-day stay in Brain Stroke Rehabilitation at Midland Hospital due to my brain Neurological Functioning Disorder . While I appreciate the efforts of most of the medical staff, my overall experience left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the nurses and doctors were kind, helpful, and friendly. They provided the care and attention I needed during my stay, which I greatly appreciated. I would like to acknowledge their professionalism and dedication. However, there were certain aspects of my experience that were disappointing and concerning. I was surprised to discover that there were student doctors who seemed to be using me for their own research purposes without proper explanation or consent. It made me feel like a mere laboratory mouse, and I believe patients should be fully informed and given the choice to participate in such activities. Furthermore, on the third day of my stay, I encountered a nurse who displayed a rude and judgmental attitude. When I requested my own prescribed medication back , she refused to give it to me, citing hospital policy. While I understand the need for policies, her approach was insensitive and made me feel as though I was being accused of misusing my medication. As someone in a critical mental health condition, I expected to receive compassion and support, not to be treated like a potential drug dealer. In addition to this, I had an unpleasant interaction with a staff member from the kitchen. The individual handed me the menu in a rude manner, tossing it towards me. Considering my emotional state at the time, this behavior was disheartening and contributed to my overall negative experience. Moreover, I was informed by the neurologist specialist that I needed to consult a psychiatrist specialist. On the last day of my stay, a lady approached me, and I assumed she was the psychiatrist specialist. I proceeded to explain my situation for half an hour, feeling tense and under pressure. Only at the end did I realize she was a nurse, not a psychiatrist specialist. I had expected to consult with a psychiatrist specialist, and this revelation left me deeply upset. While I acknowledge the efforts of the majority of the staff and the kindness they showed, these negative encounters impacted my perception of the hospital. Patients should be treated with respect and empathy, especially during challenging times. Proper communication and clarity regarding the roles and expertise of medical professionals would greatly improve the patient experience. I hope that Midland Hospital takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the areas that fell short of expectations. A more patient-centered approach, improved communication, and ensuring the presence of appropriate specialists would greatly enhance the overall experience.
