"I was ironically recommended to Dave at Annvid Upholstery by another auto upholsterer in Capalaba. I needed a joiner made for our truck that went between the cab and the pantechnicon body. A tricky job when you think about it, as you have both water (from rain) and body movement to contend with. I discussed the job with Dave, and he simply said "We can do it". What I later told Dave I loved about his initial approach was that he didn't make a massive song and dance about how much work it would all be, even though it was a custom fitment and I knew it would be a fiddly kind of job. We of course talked through things, and you could see he was mentally planning out how to do it. It was a refreshing change from the kind of people we've all dealt with. The "overly dramatic" business people. They look at the job, take a big breath in with the pushed out lips on exhale in conjunction with a shake of the head then begin to school you on why this is such a difficult job, and all the problems that they may encounter doing said job. There was none of that. Immediately you could tell Annvid were busy, but we set a date a couple of weeks down the track, and true to their word, I dropped the truck off that day and they got to work. The joiner was done over two appointments. Dave wanted me to take the truck for a drive in between, just to check the tolerances of the joiner in a real world application. It was perfect, and the second appointment was to simply finalise a few bits and ultimately make a sound deadening panel, as it had become a little noisier inside the cab, now that I had removed the rear glass. Dave and his team are great to deal with. They have a more classical approach to business, so don't be expecting any online appointment calendar with text reminders. They have what is lost in most businesses these days... People that are good to their word, and when they say they can get a job done, they get the job done perfectly."
