Sunny's Margate Beach 1 McCulloch Avenue, Margate, Queensland 4019

"Been here regularly over the past few years during the week mostly and weekends rarely. An absolute gem of a location, plenty of parking on road and side street. Staff are professional and courteous, service is excellent especially through the week though can get busy on weekends around mid morning / lunch peak time. The dining area has always been spotlessly clean and tidy on my visits. Garden plants all well maintained. Note that Sunny's part of the hotel building (The Sebel) . The view of Moreton Bay is picture postcard, have sat here through rainy wintery mornings, sunny calm days where the bay is mirror smooth, it always has something to offer. On rainy days they can extend the roof over the outside balcony dining area which is great. The food cannot be understated here, the kitchen staff deliver an excellent meal every time, the standouts for me are the flash fried calamari which always arrives hot and is butter melt in mouth soft, the scrambled eggs are top tier , coffee is decent. They do great hot scones and tea. There is a rooftop bar that has view to bay and it's an amazing spot in the evening for a quiet drink or get together. Beach is across the road . Lots of nearby boardwalk to stroll around and take in the sites. Sunny's is one of those spots where you can easily spend a lazy morning (or arvi) sitting there with friends or just chill and watch the world go by. It's one of the best spots on the Peninsula, definitely worth the couple of km trip away from the main drag shops at Redcliffe."

"FOOD: I ordered the Breakfast Burger and a Hot Chocolate. I thought $22 for a Brekky Burger, it’s good be amazing. I was wrong. The burger was small, I could have eaten 2 of them. The hot chocolate was more like heated up milk. When I asked to add more chocolate, the attitude in the response I receive was like it was asking too much. I was going to add a few sides to my dish, but $10.50 for 2 rashes of bacon, $7 for half an Avocado, someone obviously isn’t doing their homework. SERVICE: Wasn’t the best, no hello when I got to the register. The whole vibe and atmosphere was a huge let down. I probably won’t come back to this place."

"Went here with high hopes due to the beautiful location.I ordered the "Big Breakfast" which was more like a Small to Medium sized breakfast, considering the price it just wasnt good enough. Chose the poached eggs, which were hard. Toast was burnt on 1 side and flipped over so I couldn't see. Baked beans were dry. Would not recommend. Coffee was nice. Service was good. If we're spending 70 + dollars for Breakfast for 2 you would expect better."

"good place for Sunday lunch with family.. Tasty food (big portions- had to takeaway leftovers). comfortable indoor bistro seating, cafe style ordering, and good selection of food and drinks. Would recommend booking for weekend lunch as it was packed busy. online booking very easy"

"Fairly quiet and pleasant. Great views to the south east. Reasonably quick service and the meals, Whiting and Chicken Parmigiana, were nice. We often come here for Saturday morning coffee, too."
