"This is the best cafe I have ever seen in Australia. I ordered fish and chips and cappuccino and it was just fantastic. The fish sauce is delicious, the price is great, the coffee is excellent, the waiters are friendly, and the long-term visitors can get a discount. Not only that, the store decoration is very beautiful, the environment is clean, other food in the store is also delicious, strongly recommend you to try here!!!"
"So, I thought I finally found the best place to get Merlo Organico coffee. The next time I visited, I decided to stay and have breakfast. I asked the woman at the counter with short black hair and the gold rimmed glasses if the omelette came with toast. She said it didn’t. So I ordered a slice of toast to go with the omelette. It came out rather quickly, along with another slice of toast. The waitress there does not speak very good English, and so I asked to speak to someone. The barista came over, and also the woman who had served me at the counter, noticed I was speaking to her and came over as well. I politely said to her, “You advised me that there was no toast with the order and now I’ve been charged for an extra slice.” What seemed like embarrassment and shame on her face was coupled with a half attempt at an apology. I kindly asked for my money back. She went and did the refund and returned with the $5. She apologised again, as did the others along the way. I repeated to all that it was perfectly okay. Not to worry at all. Today, I returned, looking forward to my favourite coffee. I ordered the breakfast bruschetta, along with an extra egg. I asked how many slices of toast it came with and the blonde woman advise me one big slice of sourdough, demonstrating the size with her fingers. I found this was not the case when I was eventually served after inquiring of my order. Other dinners whom arrived before me were being served. When I eventually receive my order, the said red onions noted on the menu were not present. I decided to ignore that and commenced eating my cold meal. As I broke into the poached eggs, I noticed with that they were not cooked through. One word: Albumen. After forgetting my order, taking as long as he did, he still couldn’t poach them correctly? I kept my patience, gathered my things and approached the counter with the plate. I addressed the barista, who I have come to learn, is always stoney-faced, forcing a smile on the last three occasions when I’ve thanked and praised her highly for the way she made my coffees. She told me to, “Wait one minute”, not looking me in the eye. The same blonde woman then approached the counter, for which I asked her for a refund. I told her not to forget refunding me the extra egg I paid for. So as not to appear rude, I told her this is the second time now my order has been messed up. She just said nothing. I then went on to say I’m not sure what I have done and that I know I’ve never been rude. I know that gets no one anywhere to be rude and abusive. All she could say to me was, “I’m not sure what to say.” Keeping my same tone, I replied, “Then you should not be in customer service”. I also calmly stated they should be ashamed of themselves at the way they had handled the situation. No one thought to get the owner or the chef to make them accountable and there was barely an apology. I strongly advise not to dine in there."
"Japanese Karaage Chicken Stack- Fried chicken breast, 1 free-range poached egg, bacon, avocado, hollandaise sauce and crispy onions. ($15.5) 8.5/10 Savoury Wagyu Beef Mince- 2 free-range poached eggs and sourdough bread. ($20.5) 8.5/10 Caramel Latte Overall: 8.5/10 Review: Cafe Wisteria has been around for a while and recently renovated. It took me a while to actually get there but I finally went for breakfast and now have been twice. It was quite busy but the staff were lovely and trying their best. I thought they had a good menu with a variety of choice for reasonable prices. I went with the savoury mince which is one of my go-to breakfasts if I see it on the menu. You could tell the mince was wagyu with a very rich flavour. This paired perfectly with the gooey poached eggs. Fresh bread soaked up the juices and flavours and the dish was a good filling size. The only thing I would change is maybe adding some peas and corn through it as I have had with some other savoury mince dishes. The karaage stack was unique and great for something a little different. The piece of chicken was thick and tender with a crispy exterior pairing perfectly with the fresh avo, gooey egg, bacon and hollandaise sauce. On our second visit the food was consistent, and prices again were quite good. Would recommend trying this café if you are in the area. Check out @foodfantasia_ for more"
"Was really unimpressed with the service. Everyone else was seated and brought table water without question and I had to ask. Was here with my two young children and when asking for a high chair was simply pointed to the corner and no assistance given to bring it up to the table. They didn't clear the empty plates for ages but seemed to remove plates quickly for everyone else. The cafe wasn't busy and the food was okay."
"This cafe serves unpretentious simple fare at reasonable prices. The service is pleasant & fast. Coffee is Merlo needs two shots if you want to savour the brew. The omelettes are light & fluffy with genome fillings. I had the avocado toast which came with an egg. Avocado was too mushy for my taste, I prefer chunky, but good value as it was served with a generous amount of cherry tomatoes"
