Welcome to Barry Beckett Children's Centre (BBCC), a community not-for-profit early childhood education and care service located on Wurundjeri land, near Merri Creek in Coburg, Australia. Our institution is named after Councillor Barry Beckett, a passionate advocate for refugee rights and local families, who played a significant role in creating this important social service in the Coburg area.

At BBCC, we strive to honor and reflect the historical and cultural significance of our location. We aim to instill a shared understanding of our history and existence in the children who play here and the educators who work here. In line with our commitment to social justice, inclusion, sustainability, and reconciliation, we provide an inclusive environment for all.

With a license for 93 children per day, we offer quality programs in both long day care and integrated and sessional kindergarten. Our dedicated staff members are highly trained and continuously strive for excellence in teaching and care. We prioritize ongoing learning and professional development to ensure the best possible educational experience for the children in our care.

At BBCC, we value the knowledge and expertise of our families and actively involve them in decision-making about their child's learning and wellbeing. Our Committee of Management is run by parent volunteers, emphasizing our commitment to collaboration and community involvement.

We are proud to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Country we play and work on. We recognize and appreciate their enduring connection to the land and waters, as well as their role in protecting Merri Creek and its surrounding ecosystems. We pay our respects to Elders and Ancestors past and present, acknowledging that First Nations sovereignty was never ceded. We acknowledge that this continent always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
