Welcome to Anne Sgro Children’s Centre, a friendly and community-based childcare and kindergarten institution conveniently located in May Street, Coburg, Australia. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing quality education and care for children aged 3 months to 6 years.

At our centre, we offer long daycare services for up to 82 children, as well as integrated kindergarten programs for 3- and 4-year-olds. Our highly skilled educators and kindergarten teachers are committed to nurturing children's development and learning, providing a safe and stimulating environment for them to grow and thrive.

We are proud to have been awarded the "Exceeding" rating in the National Quality Standards assessed by the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority. This recognition reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional standards of education and care to the children in our community.

Established in 1985, Anne Sgro Children’s Centre was the first work-related, whole-day childcare service in Victoria, bringing together workers, unions, community groups, and government. Today, we continue to serve families in Moreland City Council with a community-focused approach to education and care.

As a non-profit organization, the Centre is managed by our Committee of Management, comprised of volunteer parents and guardians. The day-to-day operations are overseen by our dedicated Centre Director and Assistant Directors, supported by an office management and leadership team.

Our nursery room is designed to support the growth and emotional development of children, with a focus on building trusting relationships with both children and families. We prioritize open communication and encourage families to actively participate in our programs.

In our toddler room, children aged 2-3 years are cared for by our team of five highly skilled educators. We aim to create a nurturing and engaging environment that caters to the unique needs of each child, tailoring educational experiences to their abilities and interests.

Our 4-year-old kindergarten room provides a holistic program that caters to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of each child. Through open-ended play spaces, intentional teaching, and scaffolding, we foster a love for learning and allow children to extend on their ideas. Group activities and extensive project work further enhance their educational journey.

Since 1985, we have proudly served the community of the City of Moreland, including Coburg, Coburg North, Brunswick, Pascoe Vale, Preston, and surrounding areas. We are committed to providing quality child care and education to families in our community, helping children grow and learn through play in a safe, happy, and fun environment.
