"Dan and the team here are excellent! This has become my fav local spot for my weekend coffee fix. You can always tell a good cafe when you see other regulars here. The coffee here has a good aroma and creamy taste. Def a good blend without being weak. The frehsley baked Portuguese tart is an excellent add on the side when they are there. Just becareful not burn your mouth cos they are piping hot."
"Very popular for a public holiday but nevertheless happy it was open. Service was prompt even as a group of fire-fighters from the local brigade turned up for their morning brew. Spots to sit outside but a local creek with seating is just a block down the hill too."
"The friendliest neighbourhood cafe. Perfect coffee every time. Lovely relaxed vibe. Dog friendly. Small cabinet snacks and weekly specialties (Portuguese tarts and vegan banana bread are a fave). Oat milk and alternative milks available."
"Another spontaneous visit. Was craving a coffee and we decided to give Silky Oak a try since we were in the area. As usual, we got a soy flat white and a skinny cap, along with a white choc and macadamia cookie as well as a ham and cheese croissant. My skinny cap was delicious. Not bitter, not sour, very creamy and also silky. As for my partner’s coffee, he ordered a soy flat white and ended up getting a skinny flat white, which beats me how they could have messed it up. The cookie was buttery and crumbly, the way I like my shortbread. The ham and cheese croissant was flavorful with a hint of sweetness from the pastry and cheese. As for the service, I cannot say it was great and barely up to standards. On the first look of the exterior, we both thought it looked a bit sad but we were hopeful that the interior would be different, which had a completely different vibe than the outside, inviting food cabinet and lovely decorations here and there. But what we thought was the real buzz kill was the meh attitude from the staff. On our entry, a lady came out of the kitchen and said hello to us, short and sweet. The way she said it like it was out of obligation rather than being genuine. She looked like she was bothered and ready to leave if she could. And the thing is she wasn’t the only one. Another staff member looked just the same, emotionless and grumpy looking. It almost felt like the whole place was having a bad day. It felt a bit dreadful dining there to be honest. It makes you wonder if this is what they are like on a daily basis or if it was just a one time thing."
