"A really nice KBBQ place in Springvale, love coming here with a group or just a couple of people. Their set menus are filling and the side dishes are refillable at no extra costs. Their meat quality is actually pretty good for the price you are paying. Their other dishes such as cheesy fire chicken is a must have."
"Tasty and high quality Korean food but it is a bit steep in price and you may need to order extra food to satiate an appetite."
"As a long time Haysung customer, I've noticed this restaurant get progressively worse and worse. In the quality of their food and customer service. First, the poor food quality. On numerous occasions their produce has been wilted, like the kimchi and bean shoot side dishes. Not only this but I have been served burnt food. And it hasn't just been burnt a little, the whole bottom of the meal would be burnt. A particular bibimbap order was very severely burnt. The whole expanse of the bottom of the rice was grey and blackened, and stuck together like one big clump of clay. If i were to flip upside down (which i definitely could, as it held its shape so well) it would look like that of a foggy, dark wasteland. The kimchi fried rice is also frequently burnt. Large portions of the rice will be completely blackened and, again, clump together. There's also been times recently when a hair or even bug is found in the food, which is a very large health and safety risk. Often when i dine at Haysung, I will have to blot their food (like the kimchi pancake) of IMMENSE amounts of oil. Not just a little or moderate amount of oil, but SHEETS upon SHEETS of tissue for just one singular slice of kimchi pancake. The service at Haysung was originally quite good, however, recently, i see that the more i eat the, the more the customer service quality depletes. Workers have ignored me many times and even when they do come, my request is not done, and it's not like it takes long. for example, I had asked very quickly for a plastic bag for takeaway and the worker had just immediately gone off onto their break. Otherwise, they will blatantly ignore and avoid my table and order. I have watched my food be finished yet ignored and not attended to for 10+ minutes very frequently whilst there are workers walking around and doing nothing, unless ignoring other tables is something. I wonder constantly 'how do these people get hired?' It's honestly very sad to see Haysung stoop to such a low level of quality."
"Haysung Korean BBQ is as of this review the only Korean BBQ restaurant in Springvale at the moment and its not bad overall! The restaurant is located on Springvale’s main shopping street. The place is usually quite busy and booking are generally required especially on weekends. They have an outside dining area where they place gas heaters when it is cold, though I do prefer inside dining. Inside the lighting is warm and relaxing for dinner time. The service is always polite and efficient here. They also cut up the meat for you during your BBQ session to ensure everything is cooked perfectly which is really nice. Have returned a few times and while it is quite good I feel there is inconsistency. Sometimes it can be amazing!! In my head I am like “wow this reminds me of the best KBBQ in Korea”. The meat is melty, juicy and beefy. The marinades are on point. Other times however it is just okay as the beef comes out either too fatty, chewy or stringy which is really disappointing. On my most recent venture: Ordered Haysung combo (3-4 people recommended) ($149.00) - Came with Wagyu Scotch Fillet, wagyu oyster blade, marinated angus rib finger and marinated wagyu beef belly with a choice of 2 sides (choose the soy bean soup with beef and Takoyaki). The meal also came with 2 rices. The meat of the set this time round was not the best but still quite enjoyable. I enjoyed the scotch fillet the most which tender and melty. Unfortunately some parts of the marinated beef were inedible as they were too chewy. The soybean soup was hot and soothing and the salted soybeans added a nice salty kick. The Takoyaki was on the average side Corn Cheese ($12.00) - It was corn served with cheese on top. Cant really go wrong here! Kim chi fried rice with pork ($16.00) - Nicely flavoured kimchi fried rice however the rice felt slightly gluggy. Cheese TTokbokki ($15.00) - perfectly cooked with a nice bounce on the rice cakes. The banchan was free flowing."
"Didn't expect such good KBBQ in Springvale lol. Very reasonable prices. So many offerings on their menu. Everything was great. We were stuffed by the end. No complaints. We've come back twice already and would come again."
