"We had the Pho Dac Biet and the Bun Bo Hue. Pho Dac Biet (combination beef pho): Soup: 5/5. Very intensely flavoured broth. Beefy, sweet, very herby and full of umami. Noodles 5/5. Obviously fresh (and not dried) noodles, springy and delicious. Meat: 4.5/5 (half point subtracted for no tripe). The meat was generous and well cooked. Bun Bo Hue: Soup 5/5. Similar to the Dac Biet, the soup was intensely flavoured but lacking a bit of sourness and chilli by itself, which is why you should add the lemon and chilli provided. Soup was simply fantastic. Noodles 5/5. The noodles were again fresh, but this time round rice noodles. Meat 5/5: generous amount of meat with a large variety including pork belly, fish cake, and several cuts of beef. Service: 4/5 meaning it is up to expectations for a restaurant of this type. Don't expect Michelin star service, this type of restaurant aims to take your order and deliver your food quickly, and they do that very well. Food came out incredibly quickly. Atmosphere 4/5: typical suburban Vietnamese restaurant, it is comfortable but sparsely decorated with menus on the walls. Is it worth driving to Springvale for? A definite YES if you love Pho. This place is a 20 min drive for us and it was really worth it. We will keep coming back."
