Parkland Restaurant 407 Mains Road, Sunnybank, Queensland 4109
About the Business
Welcome to Parkland Restaurant, located in Sunnybank, Australia. This establishment holds a special place in the hearts of many, as it has been a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike since childhood. The nostalgic memories of dining here are cherished by many.
Despite the passage of time, one thing remains consistent at Parkland Restaurant - the quality of the food. The dishes served here are still delicious and satisfying. However, it is important to note that there can be a significant wait time before your meal arrives. The servers may seem overwhelmed, and it is unfortunate to witness the staff struggling to keep up with the demand. The extended waiting period for food to be served can be quite shocking, with some dishes taking up to an hour to arrive. This delay can be frustrating, especially when some diners receive their meals well before others.
It is worth mentioning that the overall quality and service at Parkland Restaurant have declined after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Understandably, prices have been adjusted to accommodate the necessary changes, but the introduction of a surcharge for weekends and charging it per person has left some patrons dissatisfied. With so many other Chinese food options available in the local area, it is understandable that some customers may choose to explore alternative dining experiences that offer better service and food quality.
To provide a clearer picture of the dining experience at Parkland Restaurant, it is important to highlight a recent visit on Mother's Day. Despite being informed that no bookings were available, a family decided to dine here. As expected, the restaurant was bustling with activity, and they patiently waited outside for an hour, understanding the busy nature of the day. However, once inside, their experience took a turn for the worse.
After filling out the order sheet, they had to wait in line for another full hour before being able to submit their order. The dishes were then placed on a serving plate for them to deliver to their table and return. Unfortunately, the portion sizes were smaller than expected, despite being labeled as medium to grand. Furthermore, a significant portion of the food was served at room temperature, including the dumplings and deep-fried items. The serving process seemed to prioritize one table at a time, leading to a slow pace of dining. Observing the room, only a handful of tables were eating at any given time, while others remained empty, waiting to be cleaned, or simply waiting to be served. It was disheartening to witness such inefficiency.
To provide a glimpse into the timeline of their visit, they arrived at 11:51 AM, entered the restaurant at 12:48 PM, waited in the order line from 1:00 PM, finally submitted their order at 1:49 PM, and received their food between 1:50 PM and 2:15 PM. They left the restaurant at 2:23 PM, having spent a total of 2 hours waiting - 1 hour outside and another hour inside.
While Parkland Restaurant may hold sentimental value for some, it is important to acknowledge the recent decline in quality and service. With a plethora of other dining options available in the local area, it is understandable that some customers may choose to explore alternatives.

"Don’t go there, wasting time and money. We waited more than 30 minutes to get our table and more than 30 minutes on the queue to just order our food. The worst thing is the food are not even taste good, cold and overpriced. We even been told that the beef mice rice noodle should be looked like red inside. Oh my god, it’s beef mince not steak, it should be all done, not RAW!!!!! Vey disgusting, and all the staffs there are very rude!!! I would give less than 1 star if I can!!!! Very bad and regretful experience!"
"My sticky rice was taking ages! While my other friends have finished their meal! We kept on waiting waiting waiting and waiting. Please keep the communication on, at least tell us earlier if it is taking that long, so we can order other replacements!"
"Dim sum was fine. We ordered shrimp dumplings, shrimp was not much taste, sui mai was good, rice noodle with shrimp was ok, pork buns was good. Sesame fried ball with red bean was fine, little bit cold. This is an old style restaurant, the environment, hygiene and atmosphere needs to be improved. Staff were polite. But obviously not enough staff, the lunch for 2 people was $55."
"This is definitely the worst dimsum restaurant I have ever been to in my whole life. 1st, we talk about the service. There is no cart service there. And then you need to make an order list and queue at the counter and pick your own food(?????). Need to take away? Please go to the counter and ask for the tupperware. Basically you just DIY everything. 2nd, order the tea, and somehow the tea appears to be oily. I don't know what happened. As it is shown in the pictures. 3rd, the food. Yeah, as my headline, worst dimsum restaurant. I just don't find the food nice. I'm surprised to see it is very crowded though. But I would never visit here again. So yeah. Stop wasting your time and money at this restaurant."
