"Unfortunately I had an extremely unpleasant experience at TerryWhite Chemmart Ipswich with Bob. I booked an appointment for my first Novavax dose, I was quite relieved as they had a lot of available slots where as other places didn't. The morning of I felt a little bit nervous so I called to let them know before hand and took some Valium. The two women behind the counter were so lovely and reassuring and even helped direct me to a car parking space as I was having troubles getting a park on Brisbane St/Limestone St. Once I got there and took a seat, I could see another woman in the room with Bob who was administering the vaccines, not much was said and I heard the woman say, this is the booster, Moderna? And then she suddenly left the room after getting her shot. Bob asked me to come in and as I sat down he touched my arm, I jumped and got a big fright. He responded, let's try and get this done as fast as possible so you can get out of here, and he tried to touch my arm again. I got a fright again. I asked, is that Novavax? At this point, he started to get very angry and upset - Bob said I was offending him and questioning his ability to conduct his job and that only "Novavax people" ask that. At this point I was trying to calm Bob down as he was very worked up, he confirmed it was Novavax and showed me the needle (which wouldn't have been required if I was properly pre-screened). Bob put his hand on my arm again, I was looking forward with tears in my eyes, Bob said - I'm not going to hurt you. After my vaccine, Bob asked me to wait 5 minutes in case I had reaction. It wasn't until the following day that I realised I wasn't pre-screened, I wasn't asked my name, my date of birth or what dose I was having. I won't be returning for my second shot, I'll go to another clinic where they follow correct protocol which is extremely important when administering vaccines. Now, I definitely question Bob's ability to conduct his job and realise the way he conducted himself around me was very inappropriate and unprofessional. It was very hard for me to manage my own emotions that day and his at the same time. Please, anyone going there for their first, second or booster shot, consider going somewhere else. This has been reported to QLD Health. (The prescreening form was in my junk mail which I found days later. Perhaps setting up a system that shows when someone hasn't filled in their prescreening form before their appointment may prompt staff to ensure it's completed, and vaccines are administered as per medical protocol)."
