"Unfortunately I've had quite a poor experience with Pedders Ringwood. I had a towing and load assessment on my car (I had to attend twice because the scales were broken on my first attendance and I wasn't told, despite being broken for 2 weeks). All I was provided with was load information for the car which is readily available online, no towing scenarios were performed. I've contacted the store multiple times asking the towing scenarios to be done, as well as Pedders HQ, and nobody appears to have any interest in resolving the issue. In the end, just a massive waste of time and no support from Pedders whatsoever."

"20 Feb 2023 - Pedders Ringwood recently fitted heavy duty springs to my MY2018 ZK Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV so I can tow a caravan safely. They experienced a few delays due to unfamiliarity with the electrical components under the rear seat, but appeared to get the job done OK and I drove off happily, assuming everything was done correctly. Over the succeeding week or two I formed the view that, instead of the ride height being increased when unloaded by around 30mm (as I had ben advised before the installation) it had actually decreased. After ringing around some other experts in the industry, I measured the ride height at approx. 650 mm and phoned the Ringwood franchise asking for the job card so I could compare the pre and post job ride height. They advised that they hadn’t recorded that information. After some discussion they agreed to check with the corporate R&D person for any issues, and to confirm the correct part had been fitted. They confirmed a few days later that the part number was correct, and advised the only possibility they could think of was that the part had been mis-labelled, and I should return for them to inspect it. As I don’t have a spare car and work fulltime, the only possibility was for me to drop the car on a Mon or Tue (when I can work remotely at a pinch from the nearby library), and their first available day was a couple of weeks away. I delivered the car this morning and was advised that someone had called in sick and that they couldn’t guarantee it would be finished in the day, so I agreed (somewhat desparingly by this time) to try again Tue next week. I believe this story illustrates a couple of possible QA weaknesses, including the lack of job card details for the initial installation, possible mis-labelling of the part leading to the current problem or, if not that, then some kind of failure of the part or an installation error (presumably caused by insufficient instructions being provided to the installer). I hope my experience is a one-off, as I am concerned that this franchise model has not worked well for me. Update 28 Feb 2023 - Much improved service when I returned today. They identified the part was correctly labelled but is not suitable for my hybrid (it only suits petrol/diesel models). They measured up to create a one-off set of springs to deal with the increased weight of the hybrid, and will fit them in a week or two. Arguably they should have known the other springs wouldn't fit (I did originally mention the car was hybrid) but they are providing good service now to fix the problem."
