"Great location close to Cbd, but out far enough to be out of hustle and bustle. Walking distance to town and to Scout cafe one of our favourite for simple cafe breakfast. Pool is fantastic for lap swimming with a view. Close to a range of cafes and IGA supermarket for basics. Comfortable bed, large room., large well equipped bathroom with quality toiletries. They need to upgrade streaming services available on room tv, or at least a tv smart enough be able to take a cast. Need a better range of pillows for customers. Pricey secure car parking for hotel guest."
"What a fantastic hotel. We had a huge room which had floor to ceiling windows and they were able to be opened for fresh air rather than just A/C. The bathroom was lovely with twin basins - plenty of room to spread out toiletries and cosmetics. The pool area is excellent. I sat out there yesterday and soaked up the sun and the district views on a nice day bed next to the 50m lap pool. If you don’t NEED to be in the city, staying here is a no brainer. I personally enjoyed the 15 minute walk into the CBD and the 10 minute walk to the restaurants under the Story Bridge. We will definitely come back."
"Beautiful room and excellent customer service! The interior of our room is very cool, lots of sunshine, comfortable and clean. Check in was smooth and check out was quick and easy. I accidentally left my earrings on the bedside and they have kept it for me and posted it back to melbourne. Very efficient, prompt and super helpful. So grateful for the honest and professional employees there!"
"AS expected in most ways, No room service is disappointing in a place listing itself as 4 stars. Room was average but large. View was non existent and literally just opens to face a walkway 5 minutes away with another room with window that look in to your own room so if you want light you have to just have everyone walking past looking in your room. pillow had a stain on it, not a big deal however the worst part was the noises. The air-conditioner made so much noise I thought taps were running in the bathroom. When I recorded how loud it was and played it to reception they were shocked but then said all of their units make that noise when set below 24c degrees. So literally anytime you would actually use the air con. It meant i had to sleep without sheets and a blanket because the room was hot, i couldn't open the windows and the aircon was so loud it was a joke. Then there was whatever pipes were in the walls behind the bed head. On the night it rained it was like having a storm water drain running beside you. I'd recommend not staying in room 505. An awful experience, other rooms on higher levels may be better."
"We had a great stay at The Johnson. The check in experience was great and staff were friendly. The room was modern and spacious and had Apelles apothecary toiletries. The view was nice and the neighbourhood was quiet away from the loud bars and party scene. We stayed on the Easter long weekend so if you were looking for something to eat within walking distance then this isn’t the spot as it’s a quiet neighbourhood so all cafes and restaurants (which there aren’t many) are closed but because it was a long weekend the city had free parking everywhere so it was no issue to go for a drive to the valley or inner city to check out restaurants or bars. All of the staff were very friendly and checking out was also quick and efficient. The only down side I would say is the pool area. The pool itself looks nice but the loungers and seating areas have been completely neglected and allowed to soak in the rain so the whole area is soggy and mouldy and I’d never sit in the area. It wasn’t too warm that weekend so we didn’t mind much and didn’t use the pool but I’d say if you were coming on a hot summer day or with a family to enjoy the pool then the area definitely needs some TLC which is sad since it’s so new and got neglected so quickly. We would definitely stay again. Great value, especially if you’re an Accor member."
