"Sitting here with my mother for 3 hours. She got seen in one room, had drops in her eyes then back to waiting again. They clearly double or triple book their appointments. There’s no real reason for the massive delay."

"To start with I didn’t have an eye problem. I have a small growth on the lower lid above the orbit but not actually on the eye. My GP referred me in good faith to Dr Gaskin who specialises in orbital and eye surgery due to its proximity to the eye. This was spelled out in the referral as was the fact that I am a sufferer of MND in the advanced stages. We rang ahead as advised and informed the staff of the fact that I had MND and was semi reliant on a ventilator and couldn’t wait too long. I am wheelchair reliant but can’t be upright too long as the torso muscles tire quickly and breathing becomes impossible. On them being informed of these facts my wife was told, ‘ No problem we’ll put you in first after lunch.’ Well after waiting 20 minutes we were taken and I underwent an eye test unnecessarily. We then waited another 30 minutes until we saw Dr Gaskin who was dealing with people who came in well after us! We went in to see him and you guessed it we underwent a further eye test! He then commented but you’re not here about your eyes are you? He had a look at the growth, ‘Sure I can remove that, but you’ll have to wait I’ve had a cancellation and can fit you in. It could be a 2 hour wait.’ we had seen numerous people who came in well after us come and go. The alternative was to come back in a month. After waiting for an hour up to this point I was beside myself and struggling big time. We had no alternative but to go home and I put on the ventilator. Very poor customer service by the practice and the arrogance showed to us was unbelievable. We cancelled the next appointment and I will live with it."

"Like many I consider my time valuable especially when I take time off work for an appointment. I also appreciate the difficulty for specialists to meet patients at the time prescribed. However, after waiting over an hour, the specialist did not even acknowledge the time I had been waiting. A simple apology would be appreciated but instead I felt compelled to tell Google."
