"My daughter transferred in Year 10. She was barely attending her previous school and they had seemingly had no problem with her attending school 1 day a week. At St Marys she has blossomed and has loved going to school attending the full week happily. The teachers are great and she has a great connection with them and the level of education is far better than her previous school. The opportunities she has had at St mary's have been extensive and we have a child who is excited about attending school which is amazing. The school had reached out and ensured she has settled in well and check in with us as parents as to her wellbeing. Great school... recommend."
"First of all, Catherine is a great school counsellor, that's about the only pro....otherwise I'd leave no stars if I could... To say my child was bullied and harassed with violent, vile and sexual threats against him and his sister, you'd be sickened if you read what this kid wrote and the kid got a slap on the wrist. Never got a call from the principle himself. Their solution was come do some mediation with your bully and hash it out and the kid got "apparently" a 2 day suspension. Where at my daughter's Catholic school a girl was just expelled for having a physical fight with another girl. I don't blame my son for never wanting to step foot there again. The main instigator should have been expelled immediately. I found out and did my own investigating on who these kids were and my son had begged me not to go to the teachers but when your kid is skipping school to avoid some "wanna be thugs at a Catholic school" I've got a problem with that. But he was labeled a snitch anyway by other kids so apparently the boys there think this type of behaviour is acceptable. He had a great first year before these kids trying to make a name for themselves came to the school, he had plenty of friends that were too scared to stand up to them. I wouldn't have taken the risk had I known St Mary's/CBC would become a sanctuary for problem kids from other schools after speaking to many other parents from other schools... Find a good local school if Catholicism means less to you than your child's well being."
"Used to get bullied here (physically and verbally) and the teachers did nothing about it. I suffered online harassment from the same people who bullied me for months after I left. I remember being thrown to the ground, dragged around by my hair, having things thrown at me and being beaten up almost daily in only the first term i joined for no reason whatsoever. absolutely discusting school. never send your kids here. I told the teachers and they did nothing."
"I’m a general member of the public and catch public transport to work. Often there are St Mary’s students on my line. This morning I witnessed a conversation between 4 senior school boys that was appalling basically suggesting a great gift for a woman in their life would be a diet plan “so they don’t get fat “. I reported this to the school and their response was almost as bad as the behaviour I was reporting. I was advised while they will talk to the students involved that : 1. It’s not fair the school gets all the blame 2. They can’t do much about it they are just the school 3. It’s the parents fault 4. It’s more concerning that they were caught in uniform saying this then saying it at all I have worked in a secondary school for 2 years and it is a COLLABORATIVE approach between parents and the school. Simply shifting the blame isn’t good enough. If anything the whole year level should be spoken to about this behaviour and more actions taken in their curriculum to promote respect for others and healthy body image instead of being concerned about reputation."
"Ive been bullied and pushed around but i brushed it off. The announcement bell is a bit creepy so… please fix that. Great art teachers , maths teachers , and italian teacher(s) . They also have good jelly cups for $1 at the canteen so … cool. I took 2 stars off my rating cause of the bullying and the creepy announcement bell"
