At Natya Praana, we uphold the values of Rukmini Devi, who believed in "Education without Fear, Art without Vulgarity, Beauty without Cruelty." Inspired by her motto, we strive to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for our dance aspirants, just as Rukmini Devi's lighthouse, "Kalakshetra," did.

The significance of art in fostering harmony and dispelling atrocities is beautifully captured by the Tamizh proverb, "Kolai tavirkka kalai valarkka." We embrace this belief, as expressed by V.P. Dhananjayan, that art brings hearts together. Through our dance education, we aim to encourage the growth of art and contribute to creating a more peaceful society.

Bharatha Natyam, the dance form we specialize in, has its roots in ancient times, attributed to Sage Bharatha himself. However, it was Rukmini Devi who revived and brought it to the forefront. Today, we are honored to carry the torch forward as the dancing duo Dhananjayans, who were nurtured by Rukmini Devi, have entrusted us with this responsibility.

According to V.P. Dhananjayan, dance is the unification of sound (Geetam), rhythm or time (Vadyam), and movement (Nrittam). Through our classes, we aim to impart not just the technical aspects of Bharatha Natyam, but also the essence of this art form, which encompasses various facets of creation.

Under the guidance of Lakshanya Vasan, our vision at Natya Praana is to teach Bharatha Natyam as a means for our students to delve into an art form that evokes beauty and peace.
