The St Vincent de Paul Society is actively engaged in speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve. We have countless success stories, such as Samantha, whose life was turned around with a helping hand from Vinnies. Now, she and her children have a bright future ahead of them. We also support individuals like J, who was injured at a part-time job after being retrenched, and D, who lost her job just before her 64th birthday.
As a lay Catholic organization, we are dedicated to creating a more just and compassionate society. We also acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. This website may contain images of deceased members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which are used with the utmost respect and appreciation.
The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc. is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. We are committed to making a positive impact and invite you to join us in our mission to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

Reviews
"A reasonable number of books, lots of clothes and home decor, there's also some children's toys, jewellery and shoes available. Staff out the back are always cheery and helpful but last time I went the lady at the counter was just so frustrated at being there and sort of rude, hurried me along and was talking to other people in the store while ringing up my items and ignoring me."
"I often take my dad here when he visits from interstate along with his young kids, when we went in today the staff (a male in particular) were very rude about his kids just being kids. Whilst I don’t shop here myself I do donate a lot of good quality things, I will no longer be doing that nor bringing my dad in that’s for sure! At the end of the day it is an op shop not a boutique store and the staff should consider remembering that next time they feel like being unnecessarily rude."
"A nice sized op shop and helpful staff members. I managed to find some books that I'd been looking for, for quite a while and they were well priced too. Definitely worth popping in for a look."
"Shop hete at your own risk. One day after another Kilmore Covid case, Vinnies in it's infinite wisdom is still allowing customers in, wearing disallowed scarves as face masks. When asked why, the woman at the register said "I'm not going to stop him entering because of a scarf ". Nor is there a book for cantact details should there be a need for contact tracing."
"Good place, pricing is a lot more realistic compared to some other Op Shops. It is very clean, most volunteers are polite & helpful. You can get parking most of the time, parking is not designed too well, especially for the bigger vehicles. They often have a Dollar rack, yes One Dollar. Never know what you'll find here. Good range of items."
