Welcome to Melbourne Monash Uni Aikido Aiki Kai Aust., located in the City of Monash, Clayton, Victoria. We are proud to be the representative of Aiki Kai Aikido in Melbourne and the state of Victoria.

Aikido Victoria is affiliated with the National Aikido Association of Australia, Aiki Kai (Australia), which was established in 1965 under the direct authorization of the Aikido founder, Ueshiba Morihei, also known as O-Sensei. Our institution has a rich history and strong connections to the origins of Aikido.

Our founder, Sugano Seiichi (8th Dan), was a direct student of O-Sensei and served as the head of Aiki-Kai in Australia. He was also the Australian representative to the affiliated parent organization, World Aikido Headquarters (Hombu), based in Japan. Following his passing in 2010, his responsibilities are now carried out by the Sugano Foundation.

At Melbourne Monash Uni Aikido Aiki Kai Aust., we emphasize the values of commitment, honesty, and humility in the practice of Aikido. We believe in studying the art carefully and respecting our seniors. We also prioritize taking care of our juniors, fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
