Welcome to VRI Fencing Club, located at 141 Burnley Street, Richmond, Australia. As an establishment, health, and point of interest, VRI Fencing Club has a rich history and a commitment to excellence in the sport of fencing.

Since its establishment in 1949, VRI has proudly produced 26 Olympians, a testament to our dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a competitive environment. We are open six days a week, offering a variety of structured group classes for both children and adults, catering to beginners as well as elite athletes. Our experienced coaches are also available for private lessons, ensuring personalized attention and growth for each individual.

At VRI Swordplay, we introduce young children aged 7-11 to the world of fencing in a fun and engaging environment. Our focus is on developing fundamental skills rather than repetitive drills, allowing children to discover their passion for the sport.

For épéeists aged approximately 12-20, our Junior Épée Squad provides a platform to develop into competitive fencers. With the guidance of our expert coaches, young athletes can hone their skills, improve technique, and compete at various levels.

If you're curious about fencing but not ready to commit to a full course, our Come & Try sessions are perfect for you. These sessions offer a taste of the sport without any long-term obligations.

Adults who are new to fencing can join our fun and friendly 3-week beginners' épée class. Designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the sport, this class focuses on building skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

For those looking to take their fencing to the next level, our adult squad offers a range of structured exercises and drills. Through building core strength, enhancing fitness, and developing technical skills, participants can refine their tactics and strategy, preparing for competitions and achieving their goals.

In addition to our regular training, we also organize special events such as the upcoming 2023 VRI Adult Training Day. Please note that this event is exclusively for VRI members aged 18 and above.

If you're visiting from interstate or overseas and would like to experience fencing at VRI, our casual rates offer the opportunity to fence a few nights without long-term commitments.

Our operating hours are as follows:

- Monday to Wednesday: 3:30pm to 9:00pm

- Thursday: 3:30pm to 8:30pm

- Friday: 3:30pm to 8:00pm

- Saturday: 10:00am to 4:00pm
