About the Business
Welcome to Yarra Plenty Waves, a premier swimming institution located at 20 Liat Way, Greensborough, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we pride ourselves on offering inclusive squads and multiclass pathways, embracing the differences in all athletes' training and racing abilities. Our main goal is to develop and inspire a life-long love of swimming in all our members.
At Yarra Plenty Waves, we believe in setting a strong foundation for our swimmers through our Learn to Swim classes at Yarra Swim School. Our Learn to Swim program seamlessly feeds into our squad program, providing a smooth transition for those looking to explore the sport of competitive swimming.
For beginners, our entry level squad is the perfect fit. This group focuses on learning and improving technique while having fun as a team. It's a great way to discover the joys of competitive swimming.
We also offer competitive squads for young athletes who are eager to compete at swimming meets, elevate their training, and become more competitive in the sport. These squads not only focus on improving skills and strength but also help our members maintain their fitness and overall health beyond the competitive side of swimming.
For those athletes who are truly dedicated, tough, committed, and proud, we offer squads that aim to compete at an Age State and National level and beyond. These selection-based squads provide an opportunity for athletes to prepare for competition at the highest levels in our sport.
Behind the success of our growing team are our dedicated and talented coaches. They are the driving force behind our swimmers' achievements, continuously educating, motivating, and inspiring them to be their very best. Our coaches are professionals who are passionate about their work and are committed to helping our members reach their full potential.
When you visit Yarra Plenty Waves, you'll also have access to our club rooms located at Liat Way, off Sainsbury Ave in Greensborough. Our club takes its name from the Yarra River, which is known as Birrarung, meaning "River of Mists" in the language of Woiwurrung spoken by the Wurundjeri people. We acknowledge and respect the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of this land and honor the Elders, past and present, who have resided in the area.
Join us at Yarra Plenty Waves and become part of a swimming community that fosters growth, camaraderie, and a passion for the sport. Whether you're just starting your swimming journey or aiming for the highest level of competition, we have a place for you.
