At Farrer Hall, we foster a strong sense of community and belonging. We are more than just a residential hall; we are a family. As proud Ferrets, we identify with our mascot, Cedric the Ferret, and proudly don our colors of green and black on special occasions and to support our fellow Ferrets at sporting events.
Our live-in Residential Support Team Officers (RSTO) are here to offer guidance and support, ensuring that you feel comfortable and included in all aspects of campus life.

Farrer Hall is named in honor and recognition of William Farrer, a distinguished Australian agronomist and plant breeder. Known for his groundbreaking work in developing the "Federation" strain of wheat, Farrer's contributions significantly improved the quality and crop yields of Australia's national wheat harvest. He is rightfully hailed as the 'father of the Australian wheat industry.' In addition to our institution, a suburb and a primary school in Canberra bear his name, and an Australian electoral division is also dedicated to him.
We pay our respects to the Elders and Traditional Owners of the land on which our Australian campuses stand. We strive to create an inclusive environment that embraces diversity and respects Indigenous culture.
Join us at Farrer Hall, where you'll find a supportive community, excellent facilities, and a memorable university experience. Apply now and become a part of our family!
