At Whitehouse, we are proud to be a leader in higher education for the design and creative industries. Our institution fosters a learning and teaching culture that values scholarship, critical reflection, diversity, and equity. We nurture creativity, advance innovation, sustainability, leadership, and entrepreneurship, enabling our students to develop design skills for continuous learning throughout their lives.
One of the unique opportunities we offer our Bachelor of Design students is the mentorship of Akira Isogawa, one of Australia's most iconic designers. Through one-to-one design consultations, students have the invaluable opportunity to learn from Akira's expertise in design and wealth of knowledge in the fashion business. This experience is pure gold for any design student, and we are thrilled to have Akira on board.
In addition to Akira's mentorship, Whitehouse hosts DesignTalks sessions with renowned industry professionals. Recently, we had the honor of hosting Es Devlin, whose remarkable design process was showcased in the Netflix documentary series "Abstract: The Art of Design." We also have upcoming talks with Doug Low, the CEO of Incu, who will provide valuable insights into the business of design from an Aussie retailer's viewpoint. These talks offer a unique opportunity to learn from design maestros and gain industry knowledge.
Our campuses in Melbourne CBD, Sydney, Surry Hills, and Brisbane's Kangaroo Point provide a unique and inspiring environment for design education. Located close to transport hubs and vibrant social centers, our campuses foster a healthy balance between work and design studies. Students inspire each other to push their creative limits in a competitive global environment, with focused design studio time and hands-on workshop classes. We also offer international and local opportunities unique to Whitehouse, allowing students to immerse themselves in a creative and innovative environment.
If you're a high school student considering a career in design, Whitehouse offers the exciting opportunity to develop your foundation skills in Art & Design through our Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (CUA30715). These workshops are aimed at those wishing to develop or brush up on their design skills and compile a professional portfolio. No prior knowledge is required, and all equipment is provided.
Our commitment to industry engagement is evident through our purpose-built design spaces in Melbourne and Sydney, where we host a variety of industry events. We have welcomed esteemed brands such as SEPHORA, AIRBNB, and BENEFIT COSMETICS, providing our students with unique networking and learning opportunities.
For those looking to further their design education, we also offer a Graduate Certificate of Design, starting online on May 29, 2023. This 12-week program allows students to deepen their knowledge and skills in their chosen discipline, encouraging interdisciplinary engagement. It is the first stage of the Master of Design, opening doors to further specialization and career advancement.

Reviews
"I enjoyed walking around campus and seeing what students are doing/working on, and also the different design work they have already done. Hope to comeback and do a design course!"
"I enjoyed working in a creative environment and I also enjoyed being set an open ended task where I was given the creative freedom to try whatever I wanted."
"I had an amazing experience and a great time! I learnt so much useful information that I will apply in the future. I felt very warm and welcome to Whitehouse and would love to come back soon! ❤️"
"(ZERO STARS) I write this review not feeling comfortable using my name, as I feel that this organisation has nothing but malicious intent towards anybody giving negative feedback (so "management", no need to point out my being unknown). Where do I begin? Disappointing. This word holds little grunt to even start my review. However, Whitehouse Insititute, take a look at the Oxford dictionary meaning (and then print it across your building). 'Disappointing': sad or displeased because someone or something has failed to fulfil one's hopes or expectations. You as an educational facility have failed. Failed to foster student growth, failed to uphold any form of professionalism, failed to brace your mission statement, failed to have an ounce of moral integrity and failed to produce an education that reflects the $75,000+ in tuition fees. I should have left this school early on, yet with the constant lies and false promises made I continued. Going an entire year without wifi, an entire degree without maintained resources, dress forms, sewing machines and irons were constantly out of order. Every week, being fed lies upon deceit and treated like cattle being led to a dry, dead field. Keep in mind, these issues only scratch the surface of what goes on in this place. The worst is not the lack of resources, but in fact, the worst is the "management" and staff team (stay tuned for the further review). Like a previous review states, shiny on the outside... rotten to the core. In my time at this school, I have had multiple meetings with "management" (whom I am assuming is responding pathetically to these reviews and ought to be ashamed of their lack of integrity), and each time I was left absolutely dishevelled and disillusioned at the utter lack of respect or care that was given. (Please don't bother asking me to make an appointment with you, we both know you don't care so don't act as though you do. Besides, appointments with you come to utterly no avail). The staff at Whitehouse Institute, including the Owner of the business, are careless, mean-spirited megalomaniacs who value the establishment as a money-making-machine and it is clear to see, couldn't care less about the future (OR CURRENT STABILITY) of their past, present, or future students. It is not uncommon, being verbally chastised, bullied and ridiculed by said staff on numerous occasions (to your face and behind your back, like the mean children they are). Interesting that you all feel you can treat your clients this way, at the end of the day YOU work for US and we pay your salary. I can safely say that the reason your business is still running, is because students past and present are terrified that 'bringing to light this sham of a company', could result in our qualification being redundant, and all the stress, pain and disappointment would have meant truly nothing. However, is it really worth anything? sure, I can say I survived Whitehouse Institute and am stronger for it, but humour aside this place is just a joke and not a funny one. I implore... No. I BEG anyone wanting to study fashion to PLEASE take these reviews VERY seriously, we are not disgruntled students, we worked hard, we made good grades, we were respectful. We TRIED to see the light, but the end of this tunnel does not lead to glory. This Institute will lie to your face with no hesitation only to get your money and nothing else. I am utterly disappointed, disgusted and devastated that I made this (lifelong and mentally ruining) investment to Whitehouse Institute of Design. You should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you who run this so-called "school". If you spent more time establishing quality education, these reviews would not be given. Shame on you Whitehouse Institute. My wish is that one day this business is exposed to its true rotten intentions so that no one ever has to be treated this way again. One last thing. The only good reviews you read, are past students that now work for the school or new, young, impressionable intakes who have been badgered to write positive reviews."
"Amazing experience and atmosphere. The Melbourne campus is so nice and everyone is extremely welcoming! Thank you for the great opportunity"
