Reviews
"I don't normally bother with reviews nor do i scribe in bad ink either, but in this particular circumstance I must carry out a community service and communicate to those vulnerable parents seeking mental health treatment for their children. As per all the other negative reviews written about the Dolphin Tribe Practice, I do also completely support and concur with those negatives reviews as well. It appears there is an uncanny similarity with my experience with the others and those reviews resonated with me. My son had been seeing Dr Sangeetha Makielan for a year, when she abruptly discontinued and discharged him from her care, according to her justification it was based on a lame excuse triggered by a rescheduling of an appointment. This was due to a personal family matter that recently , we did provide the practice with one week's notice, more than sufficient time for a practice to reschedule appointments. Dr Makielan then wrote to on sons GP informing him that she was unable to see my son because I cancelled an existing appointment and attempted to reschedule at more convenient time . I wrote back to to her informing her to reconsider her decision as her actions is in no way to be considered in the best interest of a child, especially from a clinical psychiatrist. I then requested for to reschedule an appointment, to date no response has been provided. So, be warned, Dr Sangeetha Makielan, has no interest in caring for your child, her priorities are more monetary and financial in nature, she lacks compassion, empathy, or the emotional intelligence required, nor is she relatable to children. All these attributes are centre stage to a clinical psychiatrist value, she really shows no interest in the care of children, maybe she should consider another vocation that does fit her strengths and attributes, like Money Lending. So, stay away and don’t go anywhere near her, your child and you will be better off with other clinical psychiatrist. I plan to take this further because there should be screening and profiling for any doctor who wants to take up Child psychiatry. Only practitioners, who demonstrate a true and sincere concern for the welfare of young people should be admitted into psychiatry. Given the state of mental health amongst the young in this day and age. Dr Sangeetha Makielan is rude, unprofessional and heartless. Disgraceful behaviour."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT go to this practice. My GP provided me with a referral letter asking for an opinion and management regarding traits of ADHD. Dolphin Tribe sent me an email saying my referral letter was not accepted and they are unable to provide a specific reason. Really disheartening and comes to show how little they care. Very appalling customer service. Please do yourself a favour and go elsewhere who will show you how much they truly care."
"Incredibly difficult to get in contact with reception. Extremely frustrating process to even book an appointment. No one reaches out after referral and all necessary documents are sent in via email and you cannot speak to someone without getting redirected 3 times. I was on hold for nearly 15 minutes before getting hung up on. Really disheartening considering some people may already be in bad headspace’s."
"This is the email I get cancelling my sons appointments after questioning an undisclosed credit card surcharge. We introduced surcharges for Credit card transactions from 1/11/22 due to increased costs of running business (just the wages alone have increased by more than 15% in last year) and use of premium credit cards whose transaction costs are more than most small businesses can bear. It would also be unfair to pass the high-transaction costs incurred to our patients via our fees when many of them are happy to pay by EFTPOS or direct bank transfer - which incurs no cost. Therefore we decided to introduce the credit card surcharges that's well below the actual costs incurred. For example you were charged $3.50 while the actual cost for us was $5.02. However, given your comments we have cancelled all your booked appointments."
"While trying to call the practice over the phone can be sometimes difficult (understandably) however they are very responsive via email. As a new patient I had to send the referral before they would even offer an appointment. While process of booking appointment was bit lengthy I do appreciate the transparency of the emails with all policies and fee information included."
